5、ding AMS4035L Aluminum Alloy, Sheet and Plate 4.4Cu - 1.5Mg - 0.60Mn (2024-O) Annealed; or when specified, “As Fabricated” (2024-F) (Composition similar to UNS A92024) RATIONALE AMS4035M revises the Title, Condition (3.2), Properties (3.3), Reports (4.4), and Identification (5.1.1), and results from

6、 a Five-Year Review and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate 0.010 to 1.750 inch (0.25 to 44.45 mm) in thickness, supplied in the annealed (O temper) condition (see 8.4). When specified, product shall be supplied i

7、n the “as fabricated” (F) temper. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for formed structural parts which will be subsequently heat treated, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible

8、to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may wor

9、k to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified, the last published issue of that document shall apply. 14、NTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined in accordance with AMS2355. Requirements of 3.3.1 do not ap

16、ply to the F temper. 3.3 Properties The product shall conform to the following requirements, determined in accordance with AMS2355 on the mill produced size: 3.3.1 As Annealed (O Temper) 3.3.1.1 Tensile Properties (O temper) Shall be as shown in Table 2. 19、around a diameter equal to the bend factor shown in Table 3 times the nominal thickness of the product with axis of bend parallel to the direction of rolling. For thicknesses greater than 0.499 to 1.750 inches (12.67 to 44.45 mm), bend testing is not required unless specified by the customer and agr

20、eed to by the supplier. Bend parameters will be specified and agreed to at the time of order entry for these thicknesses. 34、rm in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.4.1 When specified, each plate 0.500 to 1.750 inches (12.70 to 44.45 mm) shall be ultrasonically inspected in accordance with ASTM B594 and shall meet the requirements of

35、 3.4.1.1 or 3.4.1.2. 3.4.1.1 Plates shall meet the requirement for ultrasonic class B for plate 0.500 to 1.499 inches (12.70 to 38.07 mm) in nominal thickness. 3.4.1.2 Plates shall meet the requirement for ultrasonic class A for plates 1.500 to 1.750 inches (38.10 to 44.45 mm) in nominal thickness.

36、3.5 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of the product shall supply all samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Pur

37、chaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties as annealed (3.3.1.1) (not applicable to -F temper), re

38、sponse to heat treatment to the -T42 temper (3.3.2), ultrasonic quality (3.4.1) (when specified), tolerances (3.5), and when specified, the tensile properties after temper conversion to T62 (3.3.3) and T72 (3.3.4) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each inspectio

39、n lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending as annealed (3.3.1.2) and bending after response to heat treatment to the -T42 temper (3.3.2.2) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the producer unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall

40、be in accordance with AMS2355. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4035M Page 7 of 8 4.4 Reports The producer of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the chemical composition, tolerances and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to deter

41、mine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4035M, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When material produced to th

42、is specification is beyond the sizes allowed in the scope of tables, or other exceptions are taken to the technical requirements listed in Section 3 (see 5.1.1), the report shall contain a statement “This material is certified as AMS4035M(EXC) because of the following exceptions.” and the specific e

43、xceptions shall be listed. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M. 5.1.1 When technical exceptions are taken (see 4.4.2), the material shall be marked with AMS4035M(EXC). 5.2 Packagi

44、ng 5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by producer unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include, but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.2.2 The product shall be prepared f

45、or shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A producer shall mention this specification number and its revis

46、ion letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
