6、ew and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate 0.008 to 1.000 inch, incl (0.20 to 25.40 mm, incl) in thickness, clad on two sides, supplied in the annealed (O) condition. When specified, product shall be supplied in W

7、KHDVIDEULFDWHG ) WHPSHU (see 8.4). 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for formed structural parts which will be subsequently heat treated, but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. 30、s received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.4.1 When specified, each plate 0.500 to 1.000 inch (12.70 to 25.40 mm) shall be ultrasonically inspected in accordance with ASTM B5

31、94 and shall meet the requirements of 3.4.1.1 (see 8.4). 3.4.1.1 Plates shall meet the requirement for ultrasonic class B for plate 0.500 to 1.000 inch (12.70 to 25.40 mm) in nominal thickness. 3.5 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H 35.2 or ANSI H 35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASS

32、URANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of the product shall supply all samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure t

33、hat the product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties as annealed (3.3.1.1) (not applicable to F temper) and after response to heat treatment to the T62 temper (3.3.2), and tolerances (3.5) and when specified by p

34、urchaser, the ultrasonic quality (3.4.1) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending as annealed (3.3.1.2) and after response to heat treatment (3.3.2.2) and cladding thickness (3.3.3) are periodic tests and shall be perfor

35、med at a frequency selected by the producer unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4048P Page 6 of 7 4.4 Reports The producer of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the p

36、roduct conforms to the composition and tolerances, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number, AMS4048P, size, and quantity. The report shall also

37、 identify the producer, the product form, the producer lot number, and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by Table 3, the report shall contain a statement to that effect. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARAT

38、ION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M. 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during shipment and/or storage by a method determined by the producer unless specified by the purchaser. Typical examples of protective measures include, but ar

39、e not limited to, interleaving with paper or oiling of the surfaces. 5.2.2 Product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging and transportation of the sheet to ensure carrier acceptance an

40、d safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A producer shall include this specification number and its revision letter in a quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.
