9、 of the product. 3.7 Ultrasonic Inspection 3.7.1 When specified, each 0.500 inch (12.70 mm) plate shall be ultrasonically inspected in accordance with ASTM B 594 and shall meet the requirements for ultrasonic class B. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendor
11、s tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3
12、.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), and tolerances (3.8) and, when specified, ultrasonic soundness (3.7.1) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Cladding thickness (3.4.1) and tensile properties for response to heat treatment to the T861 t
13、empers (3.5.1) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating
14、that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances, and showing numerical results of tests for the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4466, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form,
15、 and the size of the mill product. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determ
16、ined by the vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.2.2 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulat
17、ions pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.
