6、cation covers an aluminum alloy in the form of Alclad sheet and plate supplied in the T81/-T851 temper.1.2 ApplicationThese products have been used typically for high strength parts requiring higher yield strength than is afforded by naturallyaged tempers of this alloy and maximum corrosion resistan

21、en specified, each plate 0.500 inch (12.70 mm) and over in nominal thickness shall be ultrasonically inspected in accordance with ASTM B 594, Class B requirements.3.7 TolerancesShall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H35.2/H35.2M.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for Ins

22、pectionThe vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirement

23、s.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), and tolerances (3.8) and, when specified, ultrasonic soundness (3.5.1) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Periodic TestsCladding thickness (3.4.1) is a

24、 periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product confor

25、ms to the composition and tolerances, and showing numerical results of tests for the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4478, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mi

PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M.5.2 Packaging5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by

27、 the vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface.5.2.2 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations per

28、taining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSProduct not conforming to this specification, o

29、r to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
