ISO9227:1990, CorrosiontestsinartificialatmospheresSaltspraytests . 3Generalrequirements 3.1 Petrolenginesshallbedesignedtoprevent,orbeequippedwithadevicetoprevent,thepropagationof backfireflamefromwithintheengineairintakesystemtothesurroundingatmosphere. 3.2Wherebac

18、kfireflamepropagationispreventedbymeansofaflamearresterconsistingofoneormore componentparts,thisdeviceshall a) provideaccessforinspectionandcleaning; b) havenoopeningsinthearresteroritsconnectiontotheairinductionsystemthroughwhichabackfireflamecan pass; c) beconstructedsothatcomponentpartscannotbemi

19、salignedduringassemblyorinstallationtoanextentthat willimpairitseffectiveness; d) includeapermanentandprominentmeansofidentificationasdescribedinclause7; e)providemeansofsecurelyfasteningboththeflamearrestertotheairintakeandthecomponentpartstoeach other.Whenclampsareused,theyshallbeaffixedtooneofthe

20、majorcomponentpartsinsuchamannerthat theycannotbeeasilyremoved,andnospringsshallbeusedforthepurposeofclamping. 21、rovidefordirectattachmenttotheairinductionsystem; b) beattachedpermanentlytotheflamearrester.Examplesofpermanentattachmentwouldbebond,weld,rivetor threadedfastenerwiththreadupsetafterassembly.Noloosepiecesshallbeusedbetweentheflamearrester andtheengineairinletthatcouldbeleftout. 3.4Foreachdesignofan

22、engineincorporatingabackfireflamecontrol,theairandfuelinductionsystemshallbe capableofmeetingtherequirementsinthisInternationalStandard. Whereaparticulardesignoftheengineairandfuelinductionsystemconsistsofvariationssothatitmaybeut ilized insimilarenginesofaparticularmanufacturer,thesevariationsshall

23、alsobeinconformitywiththerequirementsof thisInternationalStandard. Achangeinthedesignorconstructionofanengineairandfuelinductionsystemthatwascapableofcomplying withtheserequirementsshallbereevaluatedandretestedwhenappropriate. 4Testing 4.1Eachdesignoftheflamearrestershallbetestedtodetermineconformit

24、ywiththisInternationalStandard. 4.2 Whereaparticulardesignconsistsofvariouscombinationsofparts,threesampleassembliesneedtobe tested;theyshallberepresentativeoftheflamearrestingperformanceofthecrosssectionofassembliesofthe design. 4.3 Thetestofthesamplesrepresentativeofeachdesignshallconclusivelyindi

25、catethat,whensuchbackfire flamearrestersaresubjectedtothetestproceduresof6.1to6.4,thedesignpreventspropagationofthebackfire flametothesurroundingatmospherewithoutfailure,damageorpermanentdeformation. 4.4 Achangeinthedesignorconstructionofanarresterthathaspassedtestsasspecifiedin6.1to6.4requires that

26、thearresterberetestedifthechangecannotbeconsideredandacceptedunder4.2. 5Physicalexamination Thebackfireflamearresterassemblytogetherwithastockcarburettordesignedtobeused,ortheengineairand fuelinductionsystem,shallbeexaminedforcompliancewiththefollowingrequirementsofthisInternational Standard. 5.1 In

27、spectallsubmittedsamplesforevidenceofimperfectionsandconsistencywithproductiondrawings. 5.2Inspecttheassemblytoconfirmthattheflamearresterorinductionsystemcanbeinspectedandcleanedin service. 5.3 Inspecttheassemblyasinstalledfortheexistenceofanypossiblebypassopenings,suchasfastenersand joints. 5.4 Ve

28、rifythatthefastenersoftheassemblyarepermanentlysecured. 5.5 Verifythatthecomponentpartscanonlybeassembledproperly,andwithoutmisalignment,ontheengine. 6Testprocedure Thedevicesorsystemsshallwithstandtheeffectsofeachofthefollowingtestswithoutfailure. 30、fassemblyusedinservicesecuredby arigidadapterdirectlytothesurfaceofthevibrationtableinitsnormaloperatingposition. Thecarburettorandbackfireflamearresterassemblyorinductionsystemshallbesubjectto24hofvibration,with 8hineachofthe x,yandzplanes,atapeaktopeakamplitudeof1,00mm1,05mm.Thetestsetupshallbe au

31、tomaticallycycledatagraduallyincreasedanddecreasedratebetween10Hzand60Hzeveryfourminutes. 6.2Shocktest Thesetupusedforthevibrationtestshallbeusedforthistestincludingthetestfixture,carburettorandbackfire flamearresterassemblyorinductionsystem. Securelymountthesetuptothesurfaceofashockmachine. Subject

32、itto5000verticalimpactsof98m/s(10g),havingashockdurationof20ms 2msmeasuredatthe zeroreferencelineofahalfsineshockpulse. 6.3Explosiontest Thebackfireflamearresterassemblyandcarburettorortheengineairandfuelinductionsystemusedforthe vibrationandshocktestsshallbeusedforthistestandbesubjectedto50testrepe

33、titions. Thebackfireflamearresterassemblyorinductionsystemshallbeattachedtotheteststandasshowninfigure1in amannersimulatinganormalinstallation.Anenginemaybeusedinplaceofthelowerchamberoftheteststand fortestinginductionsystems.Priortothetests,thecarburettororinductionsystemshallbecarefullycheckedfor

34、anyopeningsthatcouldpermitflamepassage,andallthrottleandchokebutterfliesshallbelockedinthefullopen position.Othercarburettororinductionsystemopenings,suchasfuelline,vacuumadvanceconnections,etc.,shall besealed. Whereprovisionsaremadeonthebackfireflamearresterassemblyorinductionsystemfortheconnection

35、of oilbreathertubing,suchlinesshallbeleftdisconnectedduringthetests. Usingwhateveradaptermayberequired,thecarburettorwiththeattachedbackfireflamearresterassemblyorthe inductionsystemshallbesecureddirectlytotheupperendofachamber,tobereferredtoasthelowerchamber withaninternalboreof50mm 2mmandalengthof

36、600mm 10mmaccordingtofigure1. Thelowerchambershallbeclosedatthelowerend(seefigure1). Themethodofattachmentbetweentheflamearresterandthecarburettororinductionsystemshallbein accordancewiththemanufacturersrequirements.Thecarburettororinductionsystemshallbedirectlyandfully opentothelowerchamber,withnor

37、estrictiontogasflow.Forevaluationofinductionsystems,anenginecanbe usedinplaceofthelowerchamber,withalterationstointroducethecombustiblemixtureandignitionsource. 6.3.1Inaccordancewithfigure1,aprovisionshallbemadeatthebaseofthelowerchambersfortheintroduction ofapremixedpropanegas/airmixture.Themixingo

38、fthepropaneandairshallnotbeaccomplishedwithinthe chamber. Thepropane/airexplosivemixtureusedforthesetestsshallbegeneratedthroughtheuseofflowmetersanda suitablepremixingchamber,designedandarrangedsothatacontrolledhomogenousexplosivemixtureisfedupto thelowerchamberforaflamearresterandtotheupperandlowe

39、rchambersforanairinductionsystemduringall tests.Asuitablecontrolvalveshallbeprovidedatthegas/airinletfittingtopermitimmediateextinguishingofthe mixture,shoulditcontinuetoburnafterignition.Flamearrestersshallbeprovidedinallconnectingfittingsbetween theexplosionchamberandmixingchambertopreventeffectiv

Ahingedcoverorflexibleflapshallbeinstalledatthetopoftheupperchambertoprovidepressurerelief(see figure1). 6.3.4Theinstrumentationshallincludethefollowing: a) gasanalyserformonitoringthepropane
