22、AABG ii Foreword (This foreword is not part of this standard.) This document has been submitted to APCO/NASTD/FED by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), as provided for in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) dated December 1993. That MOU provides that APCO/NASTD/FED will devise a Comm

23、on System Standard for digital public safety communications (the Standard), and that TIA shall provide technical assistance in the development of documentation for the Standard. This document has been developed with inputs from the APCO/TIA Project 25 Interface Committee (APIC), the APIC Systems Tas

24、k Group, and TIA Industry members. This document is being published because it is felt that there is an urgent need for technical information on the emerging digital techniques for Land Mobile Radio Service. This document describes enhancements to the conventional messages for meeting the Project 25

25、 requirements. These definitions are necessary to insure interoperability of conventional radio units. As other documents describing the conventional protocol are developed, this document will be subject to change, additional messages may be needed. Some efforts have been made to ensure accuracy. Th

It presents an overview of conventional messages which was recommended by TIA to APCO/NASTD/FED as being suitable for use as part of their standard for a digital public safety radio system (Project 25). Introduction APCO Project 25 applies to both conventional and trunked systems. The distinction

28、between conventional and trunking systems may be that trunking systems include a centralized controlling device which is used to assign channels to subscribers as service is demanded. This controlling device is absent in a conventional system. A large set of useful functions are defined for trunking

29、 systems, including but not limited to the functions necessary for subscribers to request service and for the controller to grant service. Trunking also defines functions which may be applied to conventional systems, such as an Emergency Alarm. This document is intended to define the messages for th

30、ose functions that are defined for trunking which can also be applied to conventional systems. These control functions are referred to as Supplementary Data functions in this document. 1.1 Scope This document defines the message formats for the conventional supplementary data functions. These supple

31、mentary data messages are extensions to the basic Common Air Interface. Conventional systems for APCO Project 25 are defined to be any non-trunked system which conforms to the standards and specifications of 102A or its subordinate documents, where a trunked system is defined to include a centralize

32、d controller that assigns requests for service by subscribers to specific radio channels. Conventional systems therefore do not have a controller which assigns radio channels in the same sense as defined in 102AABC-B. 1.2 Overview The following supplementary data messages of trunking systems are use

33、ful in some conventional systems. Those control messages for services that are listed as standard options in 102A are labeled accordingly. Note that Radio Detach, not found in 102A but defined in 102AABC-B and 102AABD-A, is not a conventional feature and is not listed below. Emergency Alarm - Not sp

40、RFSS or attached to the RFSS via the P25 Console Sub-System Interface. Mobile: This term is used to denote a mobile radio device. A Mobile is portable and can roam. A mobile can be a mobile console which has additional capabilities beyond a normal mobile such as being able to originate the Remote Mo

Some messages have two identical CAI formats defined whose names depend on whether the message originated from a mobile device or from the RFSS.
