This equipment is intended for installation in accordance with the Standards for theInstallation of Stationary Fire Pumps for Fire Protection, ANSI/NFPA 20 and the National Electrical Code,ANSI/NFPA 70.2 Components2.1 Except
7、 as indicated in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this Outline shall comply with therequirements for that component.2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involves a feature or characteristics not needed in the application of the component in theproduct

11、THOUT PERMISSION FROM ULCONSTRUCTION5 General5.1 The fire pump shall comply with the Standard for Centrifugal Stationary Pumps for Fire-ProtectionService, ANSI/UL 448.5.2 A diesel engine driver shall comply with the Standard for Diesel Engines for Driving Stationary FirePumps, ANSI/UL 1247 and, wher
12、e applicable, the Outline of Investigation for Variable Speed LimitingControls Installed with Diesel Engines for Driving Stationary Fire Pumps, UL 1247A.5.3 An electric motor driver shall comply with the Standard for Fire Pump Motors, ANSI/UL 1004-5.5.4 A fire pump controller shall comply with the S
13、tandard for Fire Pump Controllers, ANSI/UL 218.6 Rating Compatibility6.1 The marked rated speeds of the fire pump and driver shall be within 20 rpm.6.2 The maximum horsepower marked on the pump shall not be less than the maximum horsepowerrequired to drive the pump at any flow condition as measured
14、during the production testing. See 7.1.6.3 The rated horsepower of the diesel engine driver at a speed that corresponds to the marked ratedspeed of the pump shall not be less than the maximum horsepower marked on the pump.6.4 The rated horsepower or converted kilowatt value marked on an electric mot
15、or driver with the servicefactor applied shall not be less than the maximum horsepower marked on the pump.6.5 The service factor shall not exceed 1.15 for fixed speed motors and 1.0 for variable speed motors.6.6 An electric motor used with a variable speed electric controller shall be marked for inv

18、ded indicating that theengine and controller are compatible.MANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION TESTS7 General7.1 The assembler of the fire pump, driver and controller shall conduct the manufacturing and productiontests on the fire pump as required in ANSI/UL 448. During the operation testing, the maximumb
19、rake-horsepower required to drive the pump under any flow condition with a positive pressure at thepump inlet (including adequate submergence of vertical turbine type pumps to generate maximumhorsepower) shall be determined.MARKING8 General8.1 Each fire pump, driver and controller assembly shall be legibly and permanently marked with thefollowing on the pump or assembly base:a) The assemblers or private labelers name or identifying symbol, andb) Assembly serial number.SEPTEMBER 13, 2017UL 448D6
