PART B REQUIREMENTS FOR NOTATION NBL (NAVIGATION BRIDGE LAYOUT) B5 Bridge Arrangement and Working Environment B5.3 Routes and Working Clearances (Revise Paragraph B5.3.1, as follows:) B5.3.1 Across Wheelhouse (1 July 2012) A clear route across the wheelhouse from bridge wi
4、ng to bridge wing is to be provided and its width is to be at least 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in.). However, the width may be reduced to not less than 700 mm at any single point of obstruction subject to the following: a. There is clear visibility for individuals on either side of the obstruction to see each o
5、ther as they approach the area of reduced width, b. the length of the obstruction along the passageway does not exceed 1 m (39.4 inches), c. there is sufficient room on either side of the obstruction to allow one individual to step aside and allow another individual to pass through i.e., at least 1.
6、2 m (3 ft 11 in.), d. the above actions will not interfere with any crew member at a station required to be continuously manned, and e. the attending Surveyor is satisfied that two (2) individuals traveling in opposite directions can pass through the area of reduced width with only a very brief pause by one of the two (2).
