Subsequent to the publication of this pre-standard, the technical content shall not be changed to an extent that interchangeability is affected, physically or functiona

After examination and review by users and formal agreement of AECMA-STAN, it will be submitted as a draft European Standard (prEN) to CEN (European Committee for Standardization) for formal vote and transformation to full European Standard (EN). The CE

7、N national members have then to implement the EN at national level by giving the EN the status of a national standard and by withdrawing any national standards conflicting with the EN. 11、defines the characteristics of moisture resistant, insulated, nickel plated, in-line splices for crimping on nickel plated copper conductors. They may be used at temperatures up to 260 OC maximum. This standard shall be used in conjunction with EN 3373-001. 2 Normative references This European Stand

16、s See EN 3373-001. 4 Characteristics 4.1 Temperature range The operational range for the assemblies specified is - 65 OC to 260 OC. 4.2 Materials 4.2.1 Insulating sleeve The outer insulating and sealing sleeve shall be heat-shrinkable polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with meltable inner sealing sleeve

23、ed without license from IHS-,-,-Page 5 prEN 3373-01 3: 2003 5 Tests and requirements 5.1 The tests and requirements shall be in accordance with EN 3373-001 with the following exceptions. 5.2 For test EN 2591-305, TA shall be - 65 “C. 5.3 Test MIL-STD-202 Method 106F, Moisture Resistance shall be car

24、ried out in place of EN 2591-314 with measurements and requirements as follows. Measurements shall be made before and after humidity conditioning and the specimens shall be closely wrapped in aluminium foil when these measurements are made. 5.3.1 5.3.2 Dielectric withstand voltage, 2 500 volts D.C.

25、for 1 min. The leakage current shall be less than 2 mA. 26、d between the description block and the identity block. 7 Quality assu rance Quality assurance shall be in accordance with EN 3373-001. 8 Details of assembly tooling 8.1 Crimping tools Crimping tools shall conform to the requirements of MIL-DTL-22520/37 8.2 Heating devices Hot air heating devices sh

27、all be fitted with reflectors to concentrate the heat and protect adjacent materials from damage and shall produce an air temperature of 320 “C to 380 “C in the active zone of the reflector. For heating in areas where there may be a hazard due to the presence of flammable vapours only heaters specia

28、lly designed and approved for use in such areas shall be used. 9 Marking The item code as per Table 1 shall be indicated by coloured bands on the crimp barrel as shown in Figure 1. 10 Packaging The packaging is to be marked with the EN designation, manufacturers name, part number, the quantity in the package and the date of manufacturer and batch number.
