3、oruse at low temperature down to approximately -18C (0F).The tape consists of a backing of vinyl chloride plastic, coatedon one side with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Four types areincluded providing two thicknesses at two operating tempera-tures.1.2 The values stated in SI units are the standard.

5、finitionsFor definitions of terms in this specifica-tion refer to Terminology D1711.4. Classification4.1 This specification covers two types of vinyl chlorideplastic tape of different thicknesses, as follows:4.1.1 Type I0.0178-mm (0.007-in.) standard backing foruse at low temperature down to -7C (19

6、.4F).4.1.2 Type II0.216-mm (0.0085-in.) standard backing foruse at low temperature down to -7C (19.4F).4.1.3 Type III0.0178-mm (0.007-in.) standard backing foruse at low temperature down to -18C (0F).4.1.4 Type IV0.216-mm (0.0085-in.) standard backing foruse at low temperature down to -18C (0F).5. M

7、aterials5.1 The backing shall be vinyl chloride plastic, suitablycompounded to meet the requirements of this specification.The backing shall be smooth and uniform. The tape edges shallbe straight and unbroken.5.2 The pressure-sensitive adhesive coating shall be smoothand uniform, and essentially fre

8、e of lumps and bare spots.There shall be no adhesive transfer when the tape is unwoundfrom the roll.6. Physical Properties6.1 The tape shall meet the requirements given in Table 1.6.2 Black plastic backing shall be considered standard.Backing of a different color than black shall be specified on the

9、purchase order.7. Test Methods8.1 The selection of rolls, conditioning, and testing shall bein accordance with Test Methods D1000.1This specification is under th

Rejection9.1 If the test results of any roll do not conform to therequirements prescribed in the specification, two addi

15、tionalrolls shall be selected and tested. If one of the two additionalsample rolls also does not conform to the requirements, it isacceptable for the lot to be rejected at the option of thepurchaser.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 PackagingThe package shall withstand shipment andshall give the

16、 product ample protection against damage. Theindividual rolls shall not adhere to each other or to thecontainer.10.2 Package MarkingEach package shall be marked withthe name of the manufacturer, the manufacturers productnumber, and the width and length of the roll.11.
