43、ode of the MAC (Medium Access Control) function specified in TIAEIA-136-332. Higher layers and other functions within the RR (Radio Resource) layer may use the MAC to transport data across a GPRS-136 (General Packet Radio Service) radio interface. The MAC provides the following services: High-priori

44、ty bidirectional data transport between the base station and each active mobile station. For the uplink, data transport is acknowledged. For the downlink, data transport may be acknowledged or unacknowledged. Low-priority bidirectional data transport between the base station and each active mobile s

45、tation. For the uplink, data transport is acknowledged. For the downlink, data transport may be acknowledged or unacknowledged. Unidirectional broadcast data transport from the base station to multiple mobile stations. These services are provided via two service-access points per mobile station: one

46、 for bidirectional data and one for broadcast data. The MAC requires the services of the physical layer specified in TIAEIA-136-331. These services are accessed via up to 9 service-access points: one service-access point for each subchannel provided by the physical layer. This standard is descriptiv

47、e, and therefore, it contains no requirements. If this standard conflicts with TIAEIA-136-332, the latter shall govern. 48、alias assigned to an MS at the start of a mansaction and used to identify ownership of MAC PDUs transmitted during a transaction. Active State: The state where an MS may have one or more transactions in progress and is reading all downlink slots it is capable of reading on its current PDCH. Bandwidt

49、h Capability: Indicates the MS ability to transmit and receive on different combinations of timeslots. Coded MAC PDU: A Coded MAC PDU is a MAC PDU that has been provided with a CRC, channel coded and interleaved. Data Segment: A set of data octets derived from the set of one or more MAC Stuffed SDUs comprising a transaction. A Data Segment carried within a CONTINUE PDU is known as a Data Block. Fixed Allocation: A mode of uplink operation where an MS may transmit multiple MAC PDUs without reading packet channel feedback. MAC PDU: A MAC PDU is a protocol data unit (e.g. BEGIN PDUs and CON
