15、ments apply to: a) Induction power transmitters intended to be supplied by an internal or external power source, which is powered by a branch circuit of 600 volts or less; and b) Induction receivers intended for use with induction power transmitters. 1.2 With regard to 1.1(b), the output from an ind
16、uction receiver assembly does not exceed: a) 60 V dc or 42.4 V ac peak; and b) 100 VA capacity. Exception: Greater voltage or VA limits are permitted when the combination receiver and supplied equipment comply with the applicable end-product requirements. 1.3 An induction power transmitter employs a
17、 magnetic induction coil(s) transmitting energy to a receiving coil in a device placed near the power platform. 1.4 An induction receiver is a device intended for powering a low energy product. The receiver may be an incomplete device intended for installation in or on the low energy product, or the
18、 receiver may be a complete device intended for connection to a low energy product. 1.5 An “induction battery charger” is an example of induction power transmitting and receiving equipment covered by these requirements. Examples of low energy products powered by the induction transmitter and receive
19、r include cell phones, personal data assistants, portable media players, global positioning devices, and similar small battery powered portable devices. 1.6 These requirements do not apply to a product powered by an induction receiver. Requirements for the powered product are specied in the appropri
20、ate end-product Standard which may be supplemented by these requirements. 1.7 These requirements do not apply to a product with an integral induction receiver. Requirements for such products are specied in the appropriate end-product Standard which may be supplemented by these requirements. 1.8 Thes

26、N POWER TRANSMITTER The equipment consisting of the supply connections, control circuitry, induction transmitting coils, power platform, and overall enclosure. 5.3 INDUCTION RECEIVER The equipment consisting of control circuitry, induction receiving coil, electrical output connections and enclosure.
27、 An induction receiver may be a complete assembly with output plug for connection to a low energy product, or it may be an assembly for installation in or on a low energy product. For a product with an integral induction receiver, see 1.7. 5.4 LOW ENERGY PRODUCT For the purposes of these requirement
28、s, a product intended to receive no more than 100 VA from the induction receiver under normal operation. 5.5 POWER PLATFORM The part or surface of the induction power transmitter housing the inductive transmitting coil. For a receiver coil, the circuit interface between the RF coil and the induction receiver output. CONSTRUCTION

36、T PERMISSION FROM UL PERFORMANCE 7 General 7.1 When performing tests at rated load conditions in accordance with a Standard specied in 6.1, the power platform is to be loaded to the maximum power transfer that may occur under normal conditions. A power platform capable of supplying multiple inductio
37、n receivers is to be, under normal conditions, loaded to result in the maximum input power to the induction power transmitter. 8 Induction Power Transmitter Maximum Power Transfer Test Normal Operation 8.1 The maximum power input to any single transmitting coil RF conversion circuit shall not exceed
38、 240 VA when the power platform is supplied by the voltage used during the normal temperature test in accordance with a Standard specied in 6.1. Exception: Greater VA limit is permitted when the combination transmitter, receiver, and supplied equipment comply with the applicable end-product requirem
39、ents. 8.2 In order to determine compliance with 8.1, an adjustable simulated load is to be used which incorporates an induction receiver appropriate to the power platform. The simulated load shall be capable of providing a load demand to the transmitting coil greater than the maximum input specied i
40、n 8.1. The input power to the transmitting coil is to be monitored while the simulated load is adjusted to result in the maximum power to the transmitting coil. 9 Induction Power Transmitter Maximum Power Transfer Test Component Fault Test 9.1 The maximum power input to any single transmitting coil
41、RF conversion circuit, with a single component fault of short or open circuit within the induction power transmitter, shall not exceed 240 VA when the power platform is supplied by the voltage used during the normal temperature test in accordance with a Standard specied in 6.1. Exception: Greater VA
42、 limit is permitted when the combination transmitter, receiver, and supplied equipment comply with the applicable end-product requirements. 9.2 In order to determine compliance with 9.1, an adjustable simulated load is to be used which incorporates an induction receiver appropriate to the power plat
43、form. The simulated load shall be capable of providing a load demand to the transmitting coil greater than the maximum input specied in 9.1. The selected component fault within the induction power transmitter is to be introduced and the input power to the transmitting coil is to be monitored while t
44、he simulated load is adjusted to result in the maximum power to the transmitting coil. 45、induction power transmitter coil assembly appropriate to the induction receiver (see also 10.2), the output voltage, current, and power under normal and single component fault conditions within the receiver circuitry shall comply with: a) The Standard for Class 2 Power Units, UL 1310; b) The Standar
46、d for Information Technology Equipment Safety - Part 1: General Requirements, UL 60950-1, limited power source requirements; or c) The Standard for Safety for Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment Part 1: Safety Requirements, UL 62368-1. 47、ted when the combination receiver and supplied equipment comply with the applicable end-product requirements. 10.2 For the purposes of the test requirement in 10.1, the induction power transmitter shall have sufficient capacity such that any energy limiting is integral to the induction receiver the transmitter shall not limit the receiver output. This requirement is applicable only in the applicable test conguration.
