This specification covers a six-wheel, four- or two-rear wheel drive, diesel engine driven, intercity type motor bus ambulance, having a seating capacity for 40 adult passengers for long distance transport
3、ation. The bus has features to allow ready conversion to accommodate 18 litter patients, the driver, and four seated attendants. Except for customized ambulance conversion features, vehicles procured under this specification are commercial items. Frame and all chassis components, heating and air con
4、ditioning equipment shall be commercially available items. The vehicle shall be warranted as specified in the procurement documents. 2. Except as specified in 3.1.1 through 3.1.1.9.1, the vehicle, components, assemblies, and accessories to be delivered under the contract shall be standard or optional items, which meet or exceed the requirements of this specificati

A heavy duty cooling system shall be furnished that will maintain coolant at a temperature below th
34、e boiling point with vehicle loaded to rated gross vehicle weight (GVW) and operated at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level or in an ambient air temperature of not less than 112 degrees Fahrenheit (OF). Thermostatic control of engine coolant temperature shall be provided. Control of coolant t
35、emperature shall be accomplished by either thermostatically controlled radiator shutters, a thermostatically controlled variable pitch fan, or by thermostatically controlling the flow of all engine coolant through the radiator. * 3.1.1.3 Coolant recovery system and level indicator. A radiator coolan
36、t recovery system or surge tank of adequate size to prevent loss of coolant under conditions specified in 3.1.1.2 shall be furnished. A translucent reservoir, sight gage or other means for checking the coolant level shall be provided to enable the operator to check the coolant level while standing o
37、n the ground. In addition, a low coolant level and a high coolant temperature alarm buzzer and red indicator warning light shall be provided on the dash instrument panel. * 3.1.1.4 Drain plugs. Drain plugs installed in the transmission and rear axle(s) shall be of the permanent magnet type. * 3.1.1.
38、5 Oil filter. A full flow and a bypass type oil filter shall be furnished unless otherwise recommended by the engine manufacturer. The full flow oil filter shall be connected directly to the engine lubrication system and the bypass filter by flexible lines, The inlet and outlet connections of the by
