10、als shall be in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications and standards. 3.2 Components I-II- and assembly. The parts and assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawings (Dwg.) 9335701, 9334115 all associated drawings, and all requirements specified in applicable specific
11、ations and standards, unless otherwise spec if i ed . 3.3 Welded tubing. The welded body tubing shall be tested for weld integrity at tube fabrication in accordance with .drawing 934269 3. -I- 3.4 First article inspection. This specification contains -l-_l- technical provisions for first article ins
12、pection. Requirements . for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.5 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be free 8f - burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, unblended radii, surface blisters, excess flash, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion
13、products and other foreign matter. 14、 agents. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous except for minor scratches not exposing base material. The assembly operations shall be performed in a thorough, workmanlike manner consistent with the best practices of the industry. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. 4. Q
15、UALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibilityor inspection and, standard quality assurance provisions. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the
16、 contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed
17、 necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are hereby made a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Classification of inspections. - The following types of inspecti
18、on shallbe conducted on this item: a. First Article Inspection b. Quality Conformance Inspection 4.3 First article inspection. - 4.3.1 -_I Submission. The contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the contracting officer for evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2

23、 be identified as being from the beginning or I end of the coil. Fifteen (15) measurements shall be taken on each sample specimen for the .O90 dimension and for the .13 dimension. There shall be three (3) points of measurement across the width of the specimen at five (5) places along the length. The
24、 spacing of the readings shall be approximately uniform, one (i) measurement for each characteristic shall be performed at each of the fifteen (15) measuring points on the specimen. An average value for each specimen shall be computed for each characteristic from the measurements obtained. In additi
25、on, measurements for the .232, 600 and .003R. dimensions shall be determined on the specimen from each new, repaired or adjusted rolling tool entering the production line. If the average of the fifteen (15) measurements for the .O90 and .13 dimensions fails to comply, or if the direction of rolling
26、does not comply with the requirement specified on the applicable drawing, the coil, or portion thereof, from which the sample was taken shall be rejected. A minimum of one (1) section of tube four (4) to six (6) inches in length from each 2,500 feet of tubing welded from the same heat of steel shall be flattened between parallel pl
28、ates with the weld at the point of maximum bending until opposite walls of the tubing meet. No opening in the weld shall take place until the distance between the plates is less than two thirds of the original outside diameter of the tubing. No cracks or breaks in the metal other than in the weld sh
29、all occur until the distance between the plates is less than one third of the original outside diameter of the tubing, but in no case less than five times the thickness of the tubing wall. Evidence of lamination or burnt material shall not develop during the flattening process, and the weld shall no
30、t show injurious defects. If a defect is found, the quantity represented by the sample shall be rejected. NOTE: Tubing having a carbon content over 0.20 percent may be normalized prior to testing. 4.5.3 Flaring test of tubing weld seam. A minimum of one (i) section of tube, approximately four (4) in
31、ches in length from each 2,500 feet of tubing welded from the same heat of steel shall stand being flared with a tool having a 60 degree included angle until the tube at the mouth of th.e flare has been expanded 15 percent of the inside diameter, without cracking or showing flaws. If a defect is fou
32、nd, the quantity represented by the sample shall be rejected. NOTE: Tubing having a carbon content over 0.20 percent may be normalized prior to testing. 4.5.4 Hydrostatic test of tubing. A hydrostatic test shall be performed on all tubes. The tubes shall be placed in an approved fixture with 1,000 p
33、si of hydrostatic pressure applied. If any leakage is observed, the tube shall be rejected and removed from the lot. 4.5.5 Leak test of ring and cone assembly with body. Each body assembly shall be placed in an approved fixture and the internal air pressure specified on Dwg. 9335701 shall be applied

Thirty-
35、two (32) body assemblies shall be selected from each lot and subjected to this test. Apply a load perpendicular to the cap and in such a direction as to test the strength of the assembly of the cap to the cone. If any body assembly fails to comply with the requirement specified on drawing 9335704, t
36、he lot represented by the sample shall be rejected. 4.5.7 - Pushout force of cone to retaining ring. After completion of test 4.5.6, subject the same body assemblies to this test. Apply a load circumferentially to the cone and in such a direction as to test the strength of the assembly of the cone t

PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation I- and packaging. - The body assemblies shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with Dwg. 9335708, D
39、wg. 9342880, and Dwg. 9352399 where applicable. specified in 5.1.1, shall be packed for shipment in accordance with Dwg. 9335708, Dwg. 9342880, and Dwg. 9352399 where applicable. 5.2 - Packing. The body assemblies, preserved and packaged as 5.3 Marking. - Marking shall be in accordance with Dwg. 933
40、5708, Dwg. 9342880, and Dwg. 9352399 where applicable. 5.4 Shipping. When components from more than one lot are shipped as a carload, each lot shall be kept separate and the division between lots clearly indicated to prevent mixing of the lots in transit. 5.5 - Ammunition data cards. Data card infor
