REQUIFU3MENTS 3.1 Materiais. - Materials shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings and specifications. 3.S Components and assemblies. - The components and assemblies shall comply with all requirements specified on drawings D4-11-47 and D4-
8、11-46 and all associated drawings and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications and standards. 3.3 Functioninq 3.3.1 Igniter. - The igniter, drawing C4-11-51, shall ignite and completely burn within 24 + 8 seconds when tested as specified in 4.5.3. - 3.3.2 Document destroyer. - Th
9、e document destroyer shall ignite and completely burn a minimum of 98 percent by weight of 100 pounds of paper products to be reduced to ash-within 20 minutes after ignition. The paper products shall be placed in the inner drum in accordance with the operational instruction card, drawing D4-11-52, a
10、nd tested as specified in 4.5.4. The paper products shall consist of the type and quantity of paper in Table III. 3.4 Leakage. - The sealed document destroyer shall main- tain a pressure of 15 PSIG for 3 minutes with leakage not to exceed 1 PSIG when tested as specified in 4.5.5. 3.5 Workmanship. -
11、The parts and assemblies shall be free from chips, dirt, grease and other foreign matter that may impair proper functioning. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any of the parts, nor shall the parts be con- taminated. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection a

19、f MIL-A-48078. addition, inspection lots of Document Destroyers shall contain: In a. Not more than three batches (see 6.5) of Ignition Mixture Igniter Charge of one interfix number from one manu- facturer. one manufacturer shall not contain more than one interfix number of each chemical element. In

30、on equipment. - The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed here- in is described in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“ column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit for. approval inspection equipment designs in acco
31、rdance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6 herein. 4.5 Test methods and procedures. - 4.5.1 Materiais, components and processes. - Compliance with all requirements of Section 3 of this specification shall be ascertained by current and continuing examination of inspect-
32、 ion and test data to determine that all components (parts, subassemblies, and materials) have been inspected and tested and found to comply with their respective drawing and specifi- cation requirements, and that all specified manufacturing pro- cesses have been followed. 4.5.1.1 Visual and mechani
33、cal inspections. - The visual, manual and mechanical inspections and tests shall verify com- pliance with the requirements of Sections 3 and 5 of this specification in accordance with 4.4.2 herein and Table I. 4.5.2 Moisture content. - Place 5 grams of the material to be testea into a tared weighing
34、 dish. Place in an oven main- tained at 100C for 3 hours. -Cool in a desicator and weigh. Calculate the loss in weight of contents as the percent moisture. 36、arge starts 4.5.4 Document destroyer. - Set up and operate the document destroyer in accordance with the preparation and oper- ational instructions, drawings D4-11-49 and D4-11-52. 38、MIL-D-63266 (AR) 4.5.5 Leakaqe. - Connect the document destroyer to a source of dry air (.75 percent maximum moisture content) by securing an adapter (containing a pressure gage with a shut- off valve in the line) to the threaded flange on the top head of the drum. Subject the document destroyer to
39、the air press- ure; when stabilized at the required pressure (15 PSIG) , close valve, and observe for a drop on the pressure gage for a min- imum of 3 minutes. Record any pressure drop observed. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packinq. - Packing shall be as specified on drawings D4-11-46 and D4-11-47. 5.2 Marking.
40、 - Marking shall be as specified on drawing D4-11-47. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. - The item covered by this specification is intended for the emergency destruction of documents. 6.2 Ordering data . - See MIL-A-48078. 6.3 Submission of inspection equipment designs for approval. - See MIL-A-48078.
