Scope1.1 This specification covers nickel-aluminum ordered alloycastings intended for heat-resisting and elevated-temperatureapplicati

3、ons such as heat-resistant alloy structural members,containers, supports, hangers, spacers, and so forth, in envi-ronments up to 2300F (1260C).1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are pro

4、vided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.2.1 The SI gage length for tension test specimens is inbrackets and is considered standard.2. General Conditions for Delivery3.1 Material furnished to this specification shall conform tothe requirements of Specification A781/A781M, including anysupplementary requirements that are indicated in the purchaseorder. Failure t

6、o comply with the general requirements ofSpecification A781/A781M constitutes nonconformance withthis specification. In case of conflict between the requirementsof this specification and Specification A781/A781M, thisspecification shall prevail.4. Ordering Information4.1 The purchaser should specify

7、 the alloy grade desiredand whether tension or impact tests are required, and shallinclude standards of acceptance where necessary.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 ProcessThe alloy for the castings shall be by anymethod unless otherwise agreed upon between the manufac-turer and the purchaser. Casting

8、 may be poured in sand, shell,investment, or centrifugal molds.5.2 Heat TreatmentCastings may be shipped in the as-castcondition. If heat treatment is required the treatment shall beestablished by mutual consent between the manufacturer andthe purchaser and shall be so specified in the inquiry, purc

9、haseorder, or contract.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The castings shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 1.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 Mechanical properties are not required unless specifiedin the purchase order.7.2 Tensile properties, if required, of the alloy

10、used for thecastings shall conform to the requirements prescribed in thepurchase order.7.3 Impact properties, if required, of the alloy used for thecastings shall conform to the requirements prescribed in thepurchase order.8. Test Specimens8.1 Test specimens, if required, shall be prepared in accor-

11、dance with Test Methods and Definitions A370. Test bars shallbe poured in special blocks from the same heat as the castingsrepresented. Test bars, if required, shall be furnished insufficient number to furnish specimens for the tests required inSection 9.8.2 The test coupons shall be cast from the s

12、ame melt fromwhich the castings they represent are poured, and shall repre-sent the full melting practice. Chemical composition of the testcoupons shall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table1.8.3 Tension test specimens shall be machined to the formand dimensions of the standard 2-in. 50-mm

16、finitions A370. The impact specimens are to be brokenunnotched.9. Number of Tests and Retests9.1 Tension TestOne tension test, if required by thepurchase order, shall be made from each heat.9.2 Impact TestOne unnotched Charpy impact test, ifrequired by the purchase order, shall be made from each hea

17、t.9.3 Retests:9.3.1 Retests of a duplicate specimen will be allowed if theresults of the mechanical tests for any lot does not conform tothe requirements specified in the purchase order.9.3.2 If the elongation of any tension test specimen is lessthan specified, and any part of the fracture is more t

18、han34 in.19.0 mm from the center of the gage length, as indicated byscribe scratches marked on the specimen before testing, a retestshall be allowed.10. 19、entary requirements only apply when specified in the purchase order. A list of standardizedsupplementary requirements for use at the option of the purchaser is included in SpecificationA781/A781M. Supplementary Requirements S1 and S11 of Specification A781/A781M are notappropriate for this specifica

20、tion and shall not be specified. In addition, the following SupplementaryRequirement S18, for welding applications, is not listed in Specification A781/A781M.S18. Welding ApplicationsS18.1 The sulfur shall be 0.003 % by weight or less and thesilicon shall be 0.05 % by weight or less. Detailed inform
