Scope*1.1 This specification covers hot-rolled, carbon, structural,high-strength low-alloy, high-strength low-alloy with im-proved formability, and ultra-high strength steel sheet and strip,in coils and cut lengths.1.2 Hot rolled steel s

4、heet and strip is available in thedesignations as listed in 4.1.1.3 This specification is not applicable to the steel coveredby Specification A635/A635M.1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be e

5、xact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.2. 9、inhardness, yield strength, and tensile strength that occurs whensteel, which has been slightly cold worked (such as by temperrolling) is stored for some time.3.2.1.1 DiscussionAging also increases the tendency to-ward stretcher strains and fluting.3.2.2 inclusion control, nthe process of reducing t

10、hevolume fraction of inclusions or modifying the shape ofinclusions to improve formability, weldability, and machinabil-ity.3.2.2.1 DiscussionInclusions, especially those elongatedduring the rolling process, create the conditions for initiating orpropagating cracks when the material is stretched or

11、bentduring the manufacture of a part (or both). The adverse effectsof inclusions are minimized by reducing the content ofinclusions in the steel or by altering the shape of inclusionsthrough the use of additions during the steelmaking processthat change the elongated shape of the inclusions to lessh

12、armful small, well dispersed globular inclusions (or both).3.2.3 stabilization, naddition of one or more nitride orcarbide forming elements, or both, such as titanium andcolumbium, to control the level of the interstitial elementscarbon and nitrogen in the steel.3.2.3.1 DiscussionStabilization impro

16、ch the liquid is exposed to a vacuum as part of a specialtechnique for removing impurities or for decarburizing thesteel.3.2.5 Special Forming Steel (SFS), nSteel ordered to 1010chemistry or greater levels of carbon, manganese or both,which exhibits enhanced formability or mechanical properties.The

17、characteristics identifying the enhanced formability ormechanical properties shall be specified by the user orpurchaser, on the purchase order. If requested, the producer orseller shall provide verification of special practices or mechani-cal properties supporting enhanced formability.3.2.5.1 Discus

18、sionSteel grades such as CS 1010 or CS 1020 for example, adheres to chemistry requirements only,whereas SFS 1010 or SFS 1020, also provide enhancedformability. Due to greater carbon content, SFS 1020 is notas formable as SFS 1010.4. Classification4.1 Hot-rolled steel sheet and steel strip is availab

19、le in thefollowing designations:4.1.1 Commercial Steel (CS Types A, B, C, and D, asspecified in Table 1),4.1.2 Commercial Steel (CS TypesAand B combined withchemistry grade per Specification A568/A568M Table X2.3),4.1.3 Drawing Steel (DS Types A and B, as specified inTable 1),4.1.4 Drawing Steel (DS

20、 Types A and B combined withchemistry grade in accordance with Specification A568/A568M Table X2.3,4.1.5 Commercial Steel Chemistry grade in accordance withSpecification A568/A568M Table X2.1, with no type specified(CS 1005, CS 1008, CS 1020, and so forth),4.1.6 Special Forming Steel (SFS), chemistr

21、y as specified inTable 1 with carbon CS Type B 1008, DS Type A -1005, and soforth,5.1.2.2 When a chemistry grade is specified in accordancewith Specification A568/A568M Table X2.1, with no referenceto CS Type A, CS Type B, DS Type A, DS Type B, or SFS, thegrade shall be furnished as CS 1005, CS 1008

22、, CS 1020and so forth, and meet chemistry specified in accordance withSpecification A568/A568M Table X2.1,5.1.2.3 When a type is not specified for CS or DS and thereis no reference to a chemistry grade such as 1005, 1006, and soforth, Type B will be furnished (see 4.1),5.1.2.4 When SFS is specified,

23、 a chemistry grade designa-tion shall also be specified in accordance with SpecificationA568/A568M Table X2.1 (in other words, 1010, 1020, and soforth), or carbon for example the manufacturers name or brand, the processorsname or brand or the sellers name or brand, ASTM specifi-cation number and yea

24、r date, product designation, grade, typeor class, as applicable, and all other information necessary tocompletely identify the material.11.6 A signature is not required on test reports and certifi-cates of compliance. Notwithstanding the absence of asignature, the organization submitting the test re

25、ports orcertificates of compliance is responsible for the accuracy of theinformation.11.7 When electronic data interchange (EDI) is used totransmit material test reports or certificates of compliance theyshall be regarded as having the same validity as a counterpartprinted in the certifiers facility

The content of the EDItransmitted document shall meet all of the requirementsindicated in 11.2 11.5.11.8 The furnishing of a test report or certificate ofcompliance, or both, shall not restrict the right of the purchaserto sample and test the product furnished.12. Product Marking12.1 In addition t

27、o the requirements of Specification A568/A568M for sheet and Specification A749/A749M for strip,each lift or coil shall be marked with the designation shown onthe order CS (Type A, B, or C), DS (Type A or B), SFS(Grade, Carbon or Manganese or both), SS (Grade and forSS36, Type), HSLAS (Grade and Cla

28、ss), HSLAS-F (Grade), orUHSS (Type and Grade). The designation shall be legiblystenciled on the top of each lift or shown on a tag attached toeach coil or shipping unit.13.
