1、Designation: A 1035/A 1035M 07Standard Specification forDeformed and Plain, Low-carbon, Chromium, Steel Bars forConcrete Reinforcement1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A 1035/A 1035M; the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or, in th

A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers low-carbon, chromium, steelbars, deformed and plain for co

The text of this specification references notes andfootnotes which provide explanatory material. These notes andfootnotes (excluding those in tables and

4、figures) shall not beconsidered as requirements of the specification.1.2 Bars are of two minimum yield strength levels asdefined in 9.2: namely, 100 000 psi 690 MPa, and 120 000830 MPa designated as Grade 100 690 and Grade 120830, respectively.NOTE 1Caution: Designers need to be aware that typical d

Membersreinforced with bars with yield strengths that are considerably above80 000 psi 550 MPa may exhibit behavior that differs from that expectedof conventional rei

Ductility properties for plain roundsshall be those of the nearest smaller nominal diameter

Requirements covering deformationdimensions and marking are not applicable to plain rounds.NOTE 2Welding of the material in this specification should beapproached with caution since no specific provisions have been includedto enhance its weldability. When this steel i

The values stated in each system are notexact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used inde-pendently of the other. Where the line of deformations is over 70, a reversal indirection shall not be required.7.3 The average spacing or distance between deformationson each side of the bar shall not exceed seven tenths of then

Where the ends terminate ina longitudinal rib, the width of

The nomin

Measurements of Deformation8.1 The average spacing of deformations shall be deter-mined by measuring the length of a minimum of

36、 10 spaces anddividing that length by the number of spaces included in themeasurement. The measurement shall begin from a point on adeformation at the beginning of the first space to a correspond-ing point on a deformation after the last included space.Spacing measurements shall not be made over a b

37、ar areacontaining bar marking symbols involving letters or numbers.8.2 The average height of deformations shall be determinedfrom measurements made on not less than two typical defor-mations. Determinations shall be based on three measurementsper deformation, one at the center of the overall length

38、and theother two at the quarter points of the overall length.8.3 Insufficient height, insufficient circumferential cover-age, or excessive spacing of deformations shall not constitutecause for rejection unless it has been clearly established bydeterminations on each lot tested that typical deformati

39、onheight, gap, or spacing do not conform to the minimumrequirements prescribed in Section 7. No rejection shall bemade on the basis of measurements if fewer than ten adjacentdeformations on each side of the bar are measured.9. Tensile Requirements9.1 The material, as represented by the test specimen

40、s, shallconform to the requirements for tensile properties prescribed inTable 2.9.2 The yield strength shall be determined by the offsetmethod (0.2 % offset), described in Test Methods and Defini-tions A 370. In addition, the stress corresponding to a tensilestrain of 0.0035 shall be a minimum of 80

41、 000 psi 550 MPafor Grade 100 and 90 000 psi 620 MPa for Grade 120.NOTE 3The stress-strain curves for bars meeting this specification donot have a well-defined yield point (that is, yield is not characterized bya sharp knee or discontinuity similarly to stainless steel bars). Theprovisions of 9.2 re

42、quire that the yield strength (minimum 100 000 psi forGrade 100 690 MPa and minimum 120 000 psi for Grade 120 830MPa, respectively) be measured by the 0.2 % offset method and that thestress corresponding to a strain of 0.0035 be a minimum of 80 000 psi forGrade 100 and 90 000 psi 620 MPa for Grade 1

43、20. Experimental resultsfor concrete beams reinforced with bars meeting this specification showthat the flexural strength of under-reinforced members is conservativelypredicted based on the yield strength measured using the 0.2 % offsetmethod. The minimum stress corresponding to a tensile strain of

44、0.0035 isrequired to ensure that the specified steel is at least as stiff at lower strainsas lower-strength reinforcing bars.9.3 The percentage of elongation shall be as prescribed inTable 2.10. Bending Requirements10.1 The bend test specimen shall withstand being bentaround a pin without cracking o

45、n the outside radius of the bentportion. The requirements for degree of bending and sizes ofpins are prescribed in Table 3. When material is furnished incoils, the test sample shall be straightened prior to placement inthe bend tester.10.2 The bend test shall be made on specimens of sufficientlength

46、 to ensure free bending and with apparatus, whichprovides:10.2.1 Continuous and uniform application of forcethroughout the duration of the bending operation.10.2.2 Unrestricted movement of the specimen at points ofcontact with the apparatus and bending around a pin free torotate.10.2.3 Close wrappin

47、g of the specimen around the pinduring the bending operation.10.3 It is permissible to use more severe methods of bendtesting, such as placing a specimen across two pins free torotate and applying the bending force with a fixed pin. Whenfailures occur under more severe methods, retests shall bepermi

48、tted under the bend test method prescribed in 10.2.11. Permissible Variation in Weight Mass11.1 Deformed reinforcing bars shall be evaluated on thebasis of nominal weight mass. The weight mass determinedusing the measured weight mass of the test specimen androunding in accordance with Practice E29,

49、shall be at least94 % of the applicable weight mass per unit length prescribedin Table 1. In no case shall overweight excess mass of anydeformed bar be the cause for rejection. Weight massvariation for plain rounds shall be computed on the basis ofpermissible variation in diameter. For plain bars smaller than38
