2、nal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers seamless and electric-resistance-welde

3、d steel pipe used as conduit for the installationof high-pressure pipe-type electrical cables in NPS 4 to NPS12, inclusive, with nominal (average) wall thicknesses 0.219 to0.562 in., depending on size. Pipe having other dimensions(Note 2) may be furnished, provided such pipe complies withall other r

4、equirements of this specification.NOTE 1The dimensionless designator NPS (nominal pipe size) hasbeen substituted in this standard for such traditional terms as “nominaldiameter,” “size,” and “nominal size.”NOTE 2A comprehensive listing of standardized pipe dimensions iscontained in ANSI B36.10.1.2 P

5、ipe ordered under this specification is suitable forwelding and for forming operations involving flaring, belling, and bending.1.3 Pipe for this purpose shall be furnished in Grade A orGrade B as specified in the purchase order. Grade A is moresuitable for forming operations involving bending, flarin

6、g, orbelling and this grade is normally preferred. This provision isnot intended to prohibit the cold bending, flaring, or belling ofGrade B pipe.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are

7、provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.5 The following hazard caveat applies to the test methodportion, Section 20, of this specification: This standard doesnot purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user

Whensteels of different grades are sequentially strand cast, identifi-cation of the resultant transition material is required. Theproducer shall remove the

Chemical Composition5.1 The steel shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 2 and the chemicalanalysis shall be in accordance with Test Methods, Practices, and Terminology

18、A751.6. Heat Analysis6.1 When specified in the purchase order, the manufacturershall report the heat analysis of each heat of steel used in themanufacture of pipe to this specification. The analysis shallconform to the requirements specified in Section 5 for thegrade of pipe ordered.7. Product Analy

19、sis7.1 When specified in the purchase order, a product analysisreport shall be furnished by the manufacturer on two pipesfrom each lot of 400 lengths, or fraction thereof, of 412-in.outside diameter and 5916-in. outside diameter sizes and fromeach lot of 200 lengths, or fraction thereof, of each siz

20、e 658-in.outside diameter through 1234-in. outside diameter pipe.Samples for chemical analysis, except for spectrographicanalysis, shall be taken in accordance with Practice E59. Thechemical composition thus determined shall conform to therequirements specified in Section 5.7.2 Product Analysis Rete

21、stsIf both lengths of pipe rep-resenting the lot fail the specified product analysis, the lot shallbe rejected, or at the option of the manufacturer, all of theremaining lengths of the lot shall be tested individually forconformance to the specified requirements. If only one of thelengths of pipe re

22、presenting the lot fails the specified checkanalysis, the lot shall be rejected or, at the option of themanufacturer, two retest analyses shall be made on twoadditional lengths selected from the same lot. If both of theseretest analyses conform to the specified requirements, the lotshall be accepted

23、 except for the length which failed on theinitial analysis. If one or both of the retest analyses fail thespecified requirements, the entire lot shall be rejected, or, at theoption of the manufacturer, each of the remaining lengths shallbe tested individually. Only analysis of the rejecting element

Tensile Requirements8.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as totensile properties prescribed in Table 1.8.2 The yield point shall be determined by the drop of thebeam or by the halt in the gauge of the testing machine, by theu

When a definiteyield point is not exhibited, the yield strength corresponding toa permanent offset of 0.2 % of the gauge length of thespecimen or to a total extension of 0.5 % of the gauge lengthof the specimen under load shall be determined.8.3 The test
