Materials and Manufacture5.1 ProcessThe alloy for the castings shall be made by theelectric arc or induction furnace process unless otherwi
12、seagreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser.Castings may be poured in sand, shell, investment, or centrifu-gal molds.5.2 Heat TreatmentCastings may be shipped in the as-castcondition. If heat treatment is required, the treatment shall beestablished by mutual consent between the manufact

17、on6.1 The castings shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 1.7. Tensile Properties7.1 Tensile properties, if required, of the alloy used for thecastings shall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table2.8. Test Specimens8.1 Test bars shall be poured in sp
18、ecial blocks from thesame heat as the castings represented. Test bars, if required,shall be furnished in sufficient number to furnish specimens forthe test required in Section 9.8.2 The test coupons shall be cast from the same melt fromwhich the castings they represent are poured, and shall repre-se
19、nt the full melting practice. Chemical composition of the testcoupons shall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table1.8.3 Impact test specimens are to be broken unnotched.9. Number of Tests and Retests9.1 Tension TestOne tension test, if required, shall bemade from each melt.9.2 Impact TestOn
20、e unnotched Charpy impact test, ifrequired, shall be made from each melt.9.3 Retests:9.3.1 Retest of a duplicate specimen will be allowed if theresults of the mechanical tests for any lot do not conform to therequirements specified in Table 2.9.3.2 If the percentage of elongation of any tension test
