Scope1.1 This specification covers austenitic, stainless steel,needle tubing in hard-drawn tempers for industrial applica-tions.1.2 In general, needle tubing describes small-diameter tub-ing with outside diameters (ODs) in the range of 0.008 to 0.203in. (0.2 to 5.2 mm) with nominal wall

4、thicknesses in the rangeof 0.002 to 0.015 in. (0.05 to 0.4 mm). Needle tubing gages arenormally 6 through 33.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are

7、016M).4. Process4.1 An electric furnace or other similar primary meltingprocess with or without degassing or refining may be used.5. General Requirements5.1 Material furnished in accordance with this specificationshall conform to the applicable requirements of the currentedition of Specification A 1

8、016/A 1016M, unless otherwiseprovided herein.6. Manufacture6.1 Needle tubing shall be made by the seamless or weldedand drawn process and shall be furnished in the hard-drawntemper condition.7. Heat Treatment7.1 Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, no heattreatment is required.8. Chemical Co

The chemical composition thus determined shall meet therequire

13、ments of Table 1.8.3 Product AnalysisAn analysis may be made by thepurchaser from finished tubing. The chemical composition thusdetermined shall meet the requirements of Table 1.9. Mechanical Properties9.1 Tensile RequirementsThe tubing shall meet the tensileproperties specified in Table 2. Yield st

14、rength, elongation, andhardness tests are not required for needle tubing.9.2 Number of TestsTwo tension tests for each 5000 ft ofproduct per heat shall be performed.10.
