1、Designation: A955/A955M 16aStandard Specification forDeformed and Plain Stainless-Steel Bars for ConcreteReinforcement1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A955/A955M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in the case of revision,

2、the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers deformed and plain stainless-steel bars for concrete reinforcement in cut lengt

3、hs and coilsused in applications requiring resistance to corrosion or con-trolled magnetic permeability. The standard sizes and dimen-sions of deformed bars and their numerical designation shall bethose listed in Table 1. The text of this specification referencesnotes and footnotes which provide exp

4、lanatory material. Thesenotes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shallnot be considered as requirements of the specification.1.1.1 Supplementary requirement (S1) of an optional natureis provided. It shall apply only when specified by the purchaser. In order to obtain a controlled m

Bending properties, when required, shall be by agreement between the manu

9、facturer and purchaser.Requirements providing for deformations and marking shallnot be applicable to plain bars.1.6 Weldability of most stainless steel compositions isgenerally good, however, pre-weld or post-weld procedures, orboth, are necessary. Where material is to be welded, a weldingprocedure

Retesting of physical propertiesshould be considered following welding procedures dependingupon the steel composition and welding operation involved.NOTE 2It is recommended that the user consult the manufacturer forinfor

12、as standard. Within the text, the SI unitsare shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are notexact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used inde-pendently of the other. Combining values from the two systemsmay result in nonconformance with the standard.1.9 This standard does not

It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2. The deformations on all sides of thebar shall be similar in size, shape, and pattern.7.2 The deformations shall be placed with respect to the axisof the bar so that the included angle is not less than 45. Wherethe line of deformations forms an incl

The deformations on three-sided barsshall reverse on one of the thr

Where theline of deformation is over 70, a reversal in direction is notrequired.7.3 The average spacing or distance between deformationson each side of the bar shall not exceed seven tenths of thenominal diameter of the bar.7.4 The overall length of deformations shall be such

42、that thegap (measured as a chord) between the ends of the deforma-tions shall not exceed 25 % n, where n is the number oflongitudinal gaps or longitudinal ribs, of the nominal perimeterof the bar. Where the ends of the deformations terminate in alongitudinal rib, the width of the longitudinal rib sh

The nominal perimeter of the bar shall be 3.1416 times thenominal diameter.7.5 The spacing, height, and gap of deformations shallconform to the requirements prescribed i

44、n Table 1.8. Measurement of Deformations8.1 The average spacing of deformations shall be deter-mined by measuring the length of a minimum of ten spaces anddividing that length by the number of spaces included in themeasurement. The measurement shall begin from a point on adeformation at the beginnin

45、g of the first space to a correspond-ing point on a deformation after the last included space.Spacing measurements shall not be made over a bar areacontaining bar marking symbols.8.2 The average height of deformations shall be determinedfrom measurements made on not less than two typical defor-matio

46、ns. Determinations shall be based on three measurementsper deformation, one at the center of the overall length and theother two at the quarter points of the overall length.8.3 For three-sided bars, the relative deformation area, Rd,shall meet the requirements of Annex A4.8.4 Insufficient height, in

47、sufficient circumferentialcoverage, or excessive spacing of deformations shall notconstitute cause for rejection unless it has been clearly estab-lished by determinations on each lot (Note 4) tested that typicaldeformation height, gap, or spacing does not conform to theminimum requirements prescribe

48、d in Section 7. No rejectionshall be made on the basis of measurements if fewer than tenadjacent deformations on each side of the bar are measured.NOTE 4A lot, for this purpose, is defined as all the bars of one barnumber and pattern of deformation contained in an individual shippingrelease or shipp

Tensile Requirements9.1 The material, as represented by the test specimens, shallconform to the requirements for tensile properties prescribed inTable 3.9.2 The yield strength shall be determined by the offsetmethod (0.2 % offset), as described in Test Methods andDefinitions A370.9.3 When material
