The purchaser shallhave the right to perform any of the inspections and tests setforth in this specification where such inspections are deemednecessary to confirm that the material conforms to prescribedrequirements.6. Manufacture6.1 The responsibility of furnishing castings that c
45、an be laidout and machined to the finished dimensions within thepermissible variations specified, as shown on the blueprints ordrawings, shall rest with the producer, except where patternequipment is furnished by the purchaser.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The Product shall conform to the chemical comp
46、ositionlimits prescribed in Table 1. Conformance shall be determinedby the producer by taking samples at the time castings arepoured in accordance with Practice E 716 and analyzed inaccordance with Test Methods E 607, E 1251,orE34,orEN 14242. If the producer has determined the composition ofthe mate
47、rial during casting, they shall not be required to sampleand analyze the finished product.7.2 If it becomes necessary to analyze castings for conform-ance to chemical composition limits, the method used tosample castings for the determination of chemical compositionshall be by agreement between the
48、producer and the purchaser.Analysis shall be performed in accordance with Practice E 716,Test Methods E 607, E 1251,orE34,orEN 14242 (ICPmethod).7.3 Other methods of analysis or in the case of a dispute themethod of analysis shall be agreed upon by the producer andthe purchaser.7.4 A sample for dete
49、rmining of chemical composition shallbe taken to represent the following:7.4.1 Not more than 4000 lb 2000 kg of clean castings(gates and risers removed) or a single casting poured from onefurnace.7.4.2 The maximum elapsed time between determinationsshall be established for each alloy, but in any case themaximum elapsed time shall not exceed 8 h.8. Material RequirementsCastings Produced forGovernmental and Military Agencies8.1 Unless otherwise specified, only aluminum alloy con-forming
