Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers iron-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys (UNS N0836

3、6 and UNS N08367)* cold-finished annealed or hot-finished annealed seamless pipe andtube intended for use in special corrosive service and forheat-resisting applications.1.2 Pipe and tube shall be supplied in the solution heattreated and descaled condition. When bright annealing is used,descaling is

4、 not necessary.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. The values given in parentheses are forinformation only.1.4 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to thetest method portion, Section 12, of this specification. Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 average diameter, naverage of the maximum andminimum outside diameters, or the maximum and minimuminside diameters, as determined at any cross section of the tube.3.1.2 pipe, nseamless tube conform

9、ing to the particulardimensions commercially known as standard pipe (AppendixX1).3.1.3 tube, nhollow product of round or any other crosssection having a continuous periphery.4. Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for materia

Chemical Composition5.1 The material shall conform to the composition limitss

15、pecified in Table 1.5.2 If a product (check) analysis is made by the purchaser,the material shall conform to the permissible variations forproduct (check) analysis in Specification B 880.6. Mechanical and Other Properties6.1 The material shall conform to the mechanical propertyrequirements specified

16、 in Table 2.6.2 Hydrostatic Test:6.2.1 Each pipe or tube with an outside diameter18 in. (3.2mm) and larger, or tubes with a wall thickness of 0.015 in.(0.38 mm) and over, shall be tested by the manufacturer to aninternal hydrostatic pressure of 1000 psi (68.9 kPa) providedthat the fiber stress calcu

17、lated in accordance with the followingequation does not exceed the allowable fiber stress, S, indicatedbelow:S 5 PD/2t! (1)where:S = allowable fiber stress for material in cold-drawncondition, (14 3 UTS.) 16 700 psi (1150 kPa),P = hydrostatic test pressure, psi (or kPa),D = outside diameter of the t

18、ube or pipe, in. (or mm), andt = minimum wall thickness, in. (or mm), equal to thespecified wall thickness minus the permissible “mi-nus” wall tolerance, Table 3, or the specified mini-mum wall thickness.6.2.2 Any pipe or tube showing leaks during hydrostatic testshall be rejected.6.2.3 When so agre

19、ed upon between the purchaser andmanufacturer at the time of the purchase order, pipe or tubemay be treated to 112 times the allowable fiber stress of S in6.2.1.6.2.4 When specified by the purchaser, a nondestructiveelectric test in accordance with Specification A 450/A 450Mmay be used in place of o

20、r in addition to, the hydrostatic test.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 Outside Diameter and Wall Thickness:7.1.1 The permissible variations in the outside diameter andwall thickness of pipe and tube shall not exceed those specifiedin Table 3, Table 4, and Table 5.7.1.2 Permissible variat

29、27.3 StraightnessMaterial shall be reasonably straight andfree of bends and kinks.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The material shall be uniform in quality and condition,smooth, commercially straight or flat, and free of injuriousimperfections.9. Sampling9.1 Lot Definition:9.1.1 A lot for c

30、hemical analysis shall consist of one heat.9.1.2 Lots for mechanical testing and check analysis shallconsist of the material from one heat, in the same condition(temper), and of the same specified size (excepting length) andcross section.9.2 Test Material Selection:9.2.1 Sampling for Chemical Analys

31、is:9.2.1.1 An analysis of each lot shall be made by themanufacturer from a representative sample obtained during thepouring of the heat or subsequent processing.9.2.1.2 If samples for product (check) analysis are specified,a representative sample shall be taken from each lot (see 9.1.2)of finished m

32、aterial.9.2.2 Sampling for Mechanical TestingSamples of thematerial to provide test specimens for mechanical testing shallbe taken from such locations in each lot (see 9.1.2)astoberepresentative of that lot.10. Number of Tests and Retests10.1 Chemical AnalysisOne test per lot.10.2 Mechanical TestsTe

33、nsion testsOne test per lot.10.3 Nondestructive TestEach piece in each lot (9.1.2).10.4 RetestsIf the specimen used in the mechanical test ofany lot fails to meet the specified requirements, an additionalspecimen shall be taken from a different sample piece andtested. The results of this test specim

34、en shall meet the specifiedrequirements.11. Specimen Preparation11.1 Tension test specimens shall be taken from the materialafter final heat treatment and tested in the direction offabrication.11.2 Whenever possible, all pipe and tube shall be tested infull tubular size. When testing in full tubular

35、 size is notpossible, longitudinal strip specimens, or largest possible roundspecimen prepared in accordance with Test Methods E8, shallbe used.12. Test Methods12.1 Determine the chemical composition and mechanicalproperties of the material, as enumerated in this specification,in the case of disagre

36、ement, in accordance with the followingASTM methods:12.1.1 Chemical AnalysisTest Methods E 1473.12.2 Tension TestTest Methods E8.12.3 Determination of Significant PlacesFor purposes ofdetermining compliance with the specified limits for therequirements of the properties listed in the following table

Rejection and Rehearing14.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be re

39、jected. Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.15. Certification15.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, aproducers or suppliers cert

47、d to the bundle or box inwhich the tube is shipped.16.2 PackagingEach bundle or shipping container shallbe marked with the name or brand of the manufacturer, thetrade name of the material or UNS number, the letters ASTM,the specification number, heat number, condition (temper), andnominal size; gros
