Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of

Chemical Composition5.1 The material shall conform to the composition limitsspecified in Table 1.5.2 If a product (check) analysis is performed, the materialshall conform to the tolerances provided in Specification B880.6. Condition6.1 Bar shall be supplied in the solution treated conditi
12、ons.NOTE 1The recommended solution treatment shall consist of heatingthe material to temperature in the range from 1850 to 1950F (1010 to1065C), followed by rapid cooling. For alloy N09925, the recommendedsolution treatment shall consist of heating the material to temperature of1875F (1024C), follow
13、ed by air cooling or faster for 1 in. (25.4 mm)diameter or less and water quenching or faster for greater than 1 in. Mechanical Properties7.1 Unless otherwise specified, the material shall be sup-plied in the solution treated condition, suitable for subsequentage hardening, and shall conform to the minimum roomtemperature mechanical properties shown in Table 2.7.2 The solu
18、tion treated material shall be capable of meetingthe mechanical property requirements of Table 3 following theprecipitation hardening aging treatment described in Table 3.7.3 When the material is to be supplied in the solutiontreated plus aged condition, mechanical property requirementsshall be thos
19、e shown in Table 3, or as agreed upon between thepurchaser and the manufacturer as part of the purchasecontract.NOTE 2An aging treatment other than that described in Table 3 maybe used provided the mechanical property and other requirements of thisspecification or the governing purchase contract are

Specimen Preparation12.1 Tension test specimens shall be taken from material inthe final condition and tested in the direction of fabrication.12.2 All bar and wire shall be tested in the full cross-sectionsize,
33、 when possible. If the specimen size does not utilize thefull product cross section, the specimens shall be located atmid-radius.13. Test Methods13.1 The chemical composition and mechanical propertiesof the material as enumerated in this specification shall, in caseof disagreement, be determined in

Inspection14.1 If specified, source inspection of the material by thepurchaser at the manufacturers plant shall be made as agreedupon between the purchaser and the manufacturer as part of thepurchase
35、 contract.15. Rejection and Rehearing15.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer or thepurchaser may
36、 make claim for a rehearing.16. Certification16.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, aproducers or suppliers certification shall be furnished to thepurchaser that the material was manufactured, sampled, tested,and inspected in accordance with this specification and hasbeen found to me
37、et the requirements. When specified in thepurchase order or contract, a report of the test results shall befurnished.17.
