Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials:6.1.1 The material of manufacture should be a cast billetconforming to
19、the chemical composition requirements for thealloy specified in the ordering information and shall be of suchpurity and soundness as to be suitable for processing into theproduct prescribed herein.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by hot working orextrusion, solution heat-treat
20、ing, precipitation hardening, andstraightening as may be necessary to meet the propertiesspecified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionin Table 1 for the alloy specified.7.1.1 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits
21、may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements by agreement between themanufacturer and purchaser.7.1.2 Copper, given as the remainder, is the differencebetween the sum of results of all elements determined and100 %.7.1.3 When all elements listed in Table 1 for the alloyspecified in th
22、e ordering information are determined the sum ofresults shall be 99.5 % minimum.8. Temper8.1 The standard temper designations available under thisspecification and as prescribed in Classification B601 aresolution heat treated TB00 (A) and precipitation heat treatedTF00 (AT).9. Physical Property Requ
23、irements9.1 Electrical ConductivityProduct supplied under thisspecification shall conform to the conductivity requirementsprescribed in Table 2 after precipitation heat-treatment whentested in accordance with Test Method E1004.10. Mechanical Property Requirements10.1 HardnessThe product furnished un
24、der this specifica-tion shall conform to the hardness requirements prescribed inTable 3, when tested in accordance with Test Methods E18.10.2 TensileWhen specified in the contact or purchaseorder, the product furnished shall conform to the tensileproperties in Table 3, when tested in accordance with
25、 TestMethods E8/E8M.11. Heat Treatment11.1 The majority of the product supplied under this speci-fication is in the TF00 (AT) temper. When product is purchasedin the TB00 (A) temper, it should be heat treated to a uniformtemperature in the range from 800 to 900F (454 to 482C) for3 h and then air coo
26、led.NOTE 2Special combination of properties may be obtained by specialheat treatments. These requirements shall be agreed upon by the manu-facturer or supplier and purchaser.12. Dimensions and Permissible Variations12.1 The dimensions and tolerances for these product formsshall be those shown on the
27、 drawing that forms a part of eachorder or as agreed upon between the manufacturer and thepurchaser.13. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance13.1 The product forms shall be of uniform quality andcondition and shall not have laps, cracks, bursts, or otherinjurious defects that interfere with normal app
