Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance6.1 Sheet radiant barriers shall be manufactured, packagedand shipped in such a manner that, when received by thecustomer, they are suitable for installation in accordance withPract
15、ice C 1158.7. Physical Requirements7.1 The lowemittance materials shall conform to the physi-cal properties as specified in Table 1 and local building codes.7.2 The following physical characteristics of sheet radiantbarriers are important:7.2.1 Surface EmittanceRadiant barriers derive their ef-fecti

The surfaceemittance of sheet radiant barriers shall be determined inaccordance with Test Method C 1371.7.2.2 Water Vapor TransmissionSheet radiant barriersmay or may not be vapor retarders. If the radiant barrier is toserve as a vapor retarder, the permeance
17、 of the material shallnot exceed one perm, as determined in accordance with TestMethods E96(Procedure ADesiccant Method).7.2.2.1 If the radiant barrier is to be vapor transmitting thenthe permeance of the material shall exceed five perms asdetermined with Test Methods E96(Procedure ADesiccantMethod)

The tearresistance shall be included in the manufacture
20、rs technicaldata.7.2.6 Adhesive Performance:7.2.6.1 BleedingAdhesives, when used in bonding, shallshow no sign of bleeding when tested in accordance with thetest procedure in 10.1. Bleeding at cut edges may be disre-garded. The total of bleeding or delamination, covering morethan 2 % of the sample a

22、radiantbarriers shall be tested in accordance with Test Method C 1338.The samples are then examined visually under 53 magnifica-tion for the extent of mold growth and for indications ofdeterioration. Evidence of mold growth beyond the inoculationarea shall be cause for rejection.8. Significance and
23、Use8.1 This specification recognizes that the effectiveness of asheet radiant barrier is dependent on proper installation.Practice C 1158 addresses use and installation of radiantbarriers.8.2 This specification identifies the material properties thatare important for sheet radiant barrier products.
24、When appro-priate, values for the properties have been stated.8.3 The user should consult the manufacturer about specificmaterial properties needed for a particular application.8.4 Radiant barriers shall be free of dust or other contami-nants to remain effective.9. Sampling9.1 Sampling shall be perf

Test Methods for Adhesive Performance10.1 Bleeding and Delamination:10.1.1 ScopeThis test method covers the determination ofbleeding and delamination of sheet radiant barriers.10.1.2 Significance and UseIt is necessary that sheetradiant barriers not show
26、adhesive bleeding or delaminationsince these conditions could result in a loss of structuralintegrity, a change in water vapor permeability, or an increasein surface emittance.10.1.3 SamplingA minimum of three specimens of theradiant barrier material with dimensions of approximately 7.62by 15.24 cm
27、(3 by 6 in.) will be tested. The test specimens shallbe cut from separate locations on the roll or panel of the radiantbarrier material.10.1.4 ProcedureSuspend specimens vertically in an ovenand heat to a temperature of 82 6 3C (180 6 5F) for 5 h.10.1.4.1 Determine under 53 magnification if the adhe
