Terminology3.1 Definitions Definitions of terms shall be in accordancewith Terminology C11.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This
7、Standard:3.2.1 critical lighting, nstrong side lighting from naturalor artificial light sources.3.2.2 primer, npaint material formulated to fill the poresand equalize the suction difference between the GRG part andfinishing compounds used.4. Materials4.1 Molded GRG parts shall meet the requirements
8、ofSpecification C1381.5. Environmental Conditions5.1 Room temperature shall be maintained at not less than40 F 4 C during the installation of GRG parts except whenadhesive is used for the bonding or attachment of parts to eachother or to a substrate. For the bonding of adhesive and jointtreatment th
9、e room temperature shall be maintained at not lessthan 50 F 10 C for 48 hours prior to application andcontinuously thereafter until completely dry.5.2 When a temporary heat source is used, the temperatureshall not exceed 95 F 35 C in any given room or area.5.3 Installed GRG shall be protected from d
10、irect exposure torain, snow, sunlight and other excessive weather conditions.NOTE 1Installation in conditions of excessive humidity is not recom-mended. The ideal conditions to install molded GRG parts is 70 F 21 Cand 50 % RH.6. Substrate Preparation6.1 Substrates to accept GRG parts shall be instal
11、led straightand true within18 in. in 8 ft 3 mm in 2500 mm and shall befree of obstructions and interference that prohibits correctattachment of GRG parts.6.2 Metal framing members shall be of the proper size anddesign for the intended use and shall be sufficient to properlysupport the installed GRG
12、parts. Metal framing members shallbe installed in accordance with Specification C754 or C1007 asrequired.7. Tolerances of Installed GRG Parts7.1 Parts shall be installed plumb and not be out of linemore than 618 in. in 8 ft 3 mm in 2500 mm in any direction.1This specification is under the jurisdicti

Installation of GRG Parts8.1 GRG parts shall be installed to the tolerances stated inSection 7.8.2 GRG parts shall be installed according to manufactur-ers directions onto substrates and with fastening devices asspecified
17、 by the GRG manufacturer.9. Finishing of GRG Parts9.1 GRG parts shall be finished in accordance with themanufacturers directions.9.2 GRG parts subject to critical lighting or scheduled toreceive gloss or semi-gloss decoration shall be prepared as aLevel 5 finish in accordance with Specification C840
18、.NOTE 2GRG parts are furnished with a primer-ready surface.10. Handling and Storage10.1 GRG parts shall be stored in accordance with themanufacturers recommendations.10.2 GRG parts shall be protected from rain, snow, sunlight,excessive weather conditions and jobsite damage during stor-age.10.3 GRG p
19、arts shall be stored on a clean and dry surface.10.4 GRG parts shall not be stacked or placed on other GRGparts unless approved by the manufacturer in writing.NOTE 3Parts improperly stored could be subject to warping, bowingand dimensional variations.11.
