Scope*1.1 This specification covers materials in sheet form usedfor coveri

3、ng the surfaces of hydraulic cement concrete toinhibit moisture loss during the curing period and, in the caseof the white reflective type materials, to also reduce tempera-ture rise in concrete exposed to radiation from the sun. Thefollowing types are included:1.1.1 Curing Paper:1.1.1.1 Regular.1.1

4、.1.2 White.1.1.2 Polyethylene Film:1.1.2.1 Clear.1.1.2.2 White Opaque.1.1.3 White-Burlap-Polyethylene Sheet.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. Inch-pound units are provided in parentheses forinformation only.NOTE 1This specification does not cover materials such as

5、burlap,cotton mats, or rugs used with additional applications of water to maintaina water-saturated environment on such surfaces. Procedures employingthese materials are discussed in ACI 308R. Sheet materials havingadditional characteristics such as insulating properties and the ability tocarry addi

Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 curing paper, na composite consist

9、ing of two layersof kraft paper bonded together with a bituminous material andreinforced with fiber, used for covering the surface of freshconcrete to inhibit moisture loss during the curing period.4. Ordering Information4.1 The purchaser shall specify the type of curing materialto be furnished unde

10、r this specification.4.2 Lengths and widths of the rolls or mats of the sheetmaterials furnished shall be as agreed upon between thepurchaser and seller.5. Performance Requirements5.1 The sheet materials furnished under this specificationshall be tough, strong, resilient, and capable of withstanding

11、normal job use without puncturing or tearing.5.2 The sheet material shall exhibit a water vapor transmis-sion rate (WVTR) of no more than 10 g/m2in 24 h when testedaccording to Test Methods E 96/E 96M using the WaterMethod in the environment (test cabinet) specified in TestMethod C 156.5.3 The dayli

12、ght reflectance of the white side of whitecuring paper shall be at least 50 % when measured by TestMethod E 1347. The daylight reflectance of white polyethylenefilm and the polyethylene side of white burlap-polyethylenesheet shall be at least 70 % when measured according to TestMethod E 1347.NOTE 2D

Physical Requirements6.1 Curing Paper shall consist of two sheets of kraft papercemented together with a bituminous material in which areembedded cords or strands of fiber running in both directionsand not more than 32 mm (114 in.) apart. The paper shall belight in color, sha

18、ll be free of visible defects, and shall have auniform appearance. White paper shall have a white surface onat least one side.6.1.1 The tensile strength of curing paper shall be no lessthan 5.25 kN/m of width (30 lbf/in. of width ) in the machinedirection and 2.62 kN/m of width (15 lbf/in. of width)

19、 in thecross direction when measured according to Test MethodsD 829.6.2 Polyethylene Film shall consist of a single sheet manu-factured from polyethylene resins. It shall be free of visibledefects and shall have a uniform appearance. The clear typeshall be essentially transparent. The opaque film sh

20、all containwhite pigment.6.2.1 The nominal thickness of polyethylene film shall beno less than 0.10 mm (4 mil) as determined according toSpecification D 4397 . Thickness at any point shall be no lessthan 0.075 mm (0.0030 in.).6.2.2 The impact resistance and mechanical properties shallbe as required

21、in Specification D 4397.6.3 White Burlap-Polyethylene Sheeting shall consist ofburlap weighing not less than 305 g/m2(9 oz./yd2) extrusioncoated on one side with white opaque polyethylene at least0.10 mm (0.004 in.) thick and meeting the other requirementsof 6.2. The polyethylene material shall be s

22、ecurely bonded tothe burlap so that there will be no separation of the materialsduring handling and curing of the concrete.7.
