( D) Polite and forgiving.

从文中第一段 “One day his friends found him slumped in a coma on his bed after he had consumed two litres of a powerful insecticide ”一句可知,当 Made的朋友发现他时,他刚刚喝了两升的强效杀虫剂,故选择 C。

、 behind the marketing hype lies another storyone which exists in stark contrast to the sun, sand and seadream The truth is that the lives of Balis 2 7 million local inhabitants are often marked by poverty, suffering and family strife ”,此处出现的 “another”, “in stark contrast to”都表明现实与heavenly paradise有很

下订单是定位关键词,见文中第二段 “we were assured by you of its straightforwardness, and that your existing stocks were sufficiently high to ensure immediate shipment”,既销售方承诺有足够的存货可以马上发货。

、中明确说明“we consider there to be only a limited market in this country for watches of other colours at the present time” (考虑到其他颜色组合手表的市场有限,所以下订单时已强调必须是谈好的颜色类别 )。 第五段最后一句 “We shall also , of course, be forced to reconsider whether any further orders should be placed with your company ”,写信者的态度从 “be forced to”一个词组就可看出,选项 B、 D都不可能。
