9、finitions of textile terms used in this specifica-tion, refer to the individual ASTM and AATCC test methods,and to Terminology D 123.4. Specification Requirements4.1 The properties of woven awning and canopy fabricsshall conform to the specification requirements listed in Table1.5. Significance and

10、Use5.1 Fabrics intended for this end-use should meet all of therequirements listed in Table 1.5.2 It should be recognized that fabrics can be producedwith an almost infinite number of combinations of constructionvariables (for example, type of fibers, percentage of fibers, yarntwist, yarn number, wa

11、rp and pick count, chemical andmechanical finished.) Additionally, fashion or aesthetics dictatethat the ultimate consumer may find acceptable articles madefrom fabrics that do not conform to all of the requirements inTable 1.5.2.1 Hence, no single performance specification can possi-bly apply to al

12、l the various fabrics that could be utilized for thisend-use.5.3 The uses and significance of particular properties andtest methods are discussed in the appropriate sections of thespecified test methods.5.4 The significance and use of particular properties and testmethods are discussed in the approp

17、 D 1424.6.4 Dimensional ChangeDetermine the maximum dimen-sional change after five cleanings, as directed in AATCC TestMethod 138.6.5 Colorfastness:6.5.1 Burnt Gas FumesDetermine the colorfastness toburnt gas fumes on the original fabric, and after one launderingor one drycleaning, as directed in AA

18、TCC Test Method 23.6.5.2 CrockingDetermine the colorfastness to dry and wetcrocking as directed in AATCC Test Method 8 or AATCC TestMethod 116, or as agreed to by the purchaser and the supplier.In case of controversy, AATCC Test Method 8 shall prevail.6.5.3 LightDetermine the colorfastness to light

19、as di-rected in AATCC Test Method 16.NOTE 3There are distinct differences in spectral distribution betweenthe various types of machines listed in AATCC Test Method 16, with nooverall correlations between them. Consequently, these machines cannotbe used interchangeably. In case of controversy, result
