Classification3.1 Types and CapacitiesThe crucibles shall be furnishedin one or more of the following types or capacities as specified(see S2.1).3
5、.1.1 Type INickel.Capacity: 100 mL250 mL3.1.2 Type IIPlatinum.Capacity: 20 mL4. Materials4.1 Type ICrucibles and covers shall be made from99.4 % nickel, spun and hardened in conformance with Speci-fication B162.4.2 Type IICrucibles and covers shall be made from99.9 % platinum plus iridium, with the
6、iridium content of notmore than 0.4 %.5. Physical Requirements5.1 Crucibles shall have a standard shape with a flat base togive a firm and stable resting surface. The side wall shall forma sloping and convex surface extending up to the brim.Crucibles shall be of one-piece construction.5.2 Covers sha
7、ll be flat, sunken in the center, and shall havean extension to serve as a handle. The sunken area in the centershall fit inside the crucible.6. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations6.1 Type I crucibles and covers shall conform to the re-quirements of Table 1.6.2 Type II Crucibles and Covers:

Workmanship7.1 Crucibles and covers shall be free of defects (scratches,dents, discolorations) or contamination (grease, oil, foreignmatter) that detract from their

14、1.4 Number of unit packages per intermediate packagesrequired.S2.2 Suppliers ResponsibilityThe supplier is responsiblefor the performance of all inspection requirements as specifiedherein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may use hisown or any other inspection facilities and services acce
15、ptableto the Government. Inspection records of the examination andtests shall be kept complete and available to the Government asspecified in the contract or order. The Government reserves theright to perform any of the inspections set forth in thespecification where such inspections are deemed nece

InspectionS4.1 Special Provisions:S4.1.1 Alternative Inspection (Including Testing)ProceduresThe supplier may use any al
19、ternative inspectionprocedures that will ensure equal or better quality by submit-ting a written proposal with justification and obtaining writtenapproval from the Government prior to instituting the proce-dure.
