Classification4.1 Sheet vinyl floor covering shall conform to the follow-ing types, grade
11、s, and backing classes.4.1.1 TypesTypes shall be classified by the PVC wearlayers binder content (vinyl resins, plasticizers, and stabiliz-ers). Thewear layer system shall consist of a single layer or multiplelayers that do not delaminate under normal use.4.1.3 Backing ClassesBacking classes shall be arrangedaccording to composition and use category.4.1.3.1 Class A backings shall be fibrous (non-asbestosformulated)
18、and suitable for floors above, on, and below-grade.4.1.3.2 Class B backings shall be nonfoamed plastic andsuitable for floors above, on, and below-grade.4.1.3.3 Class C backings shall be foamed plastic and suit-able for floors above, on, and below-grade.5. Ordering Information5.1 Sheet vinyl floor c
19、overing with backing shall be orderedby type, grade, class, and other characteristics important to thepurchaser for the intended use as indicated by Table 1.6. Materials6.1 Wear Layer:6.1.1 The wear layer shall have a vinyl plastic binder andmay include pigments, fillers, extenders, and other ingred
20、ients,and shall be stabilized against heat and light deterioration.6.1.2 The binder of the wear layer shall consist of one ormore vinyl resins, plasticizers, and stabilizers. Each resin shallbe polyvinyl chloride or a copolymer of vinyl chloride not lessthan 85 % of which is vinyl chloride. The viny
21、l resin(s) shall benot less than 60 % by weight of the binder.6.1.3 The wear layer may be transparent, translucent, oropaque. A background or pattern under the wear layer may beprinted with suitably formulated, color stable inks, or otherwiseprepared to create a color stable pattern. The color of th
22、epattern created must be stable against heat and light deteriora-tion. See 11.7 and 11.8.6.1.4 The surface of the wear layer may be smooth,embossed, or otherwise textured with or without valley (de-pressed) printing.6.1.5 Non-PVC LayerThe top layer(s) of a Type I or IIproduct can be a non-PVC layer(
23、s), which may constitute partof the total wear layer system up to 49 % and is not removableby normal maintenance procedures.6.1.6 A background color or pattern under the Type I or IIwear layer system may be printed with suitably formulated,color stable materials.6.2 Intermediate LayersIntermediate l
24、ayers, such as foamand reinforcing materials, may be included.6.3 BackingThe composition of backings shall be fibrous,nonfoamed plastic, or foamed plastic and may contain otheringredients provided the resultant backing is suitable for theuse category specified in 4.1.3.NOTE 1Backing classes are spec
25、ified in order to properly specify theadhesives and installation systems to be used.7. Physical Requirements7.1 Type I and Type II sheet vinyl floor covering shall meetthe requirements in Table 2.8. Dimensions8.1 The floor covering is available in standard 6-ft (1.83-m)or 12-ft (3.66-m) widths (minu
26、s 0 in.). Other widths may beavailable. All widths are not available for all types.8.2 The overall thickness of floor covering varies dependingupon type, grade, and class. The floor covering shall befurnished in a minimum overall thickness of 0.040 in. (1.0 mm)provided that the surfaces to receive t
27、hem are prepared inaccordance with Practice F710 and Guide F1482.9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 Materials furnished under this specification shall be anacceptable match to an approved sample(s) in pattern, color,and surface appearance. The product shall be free of defectsthat would advers
28、ely affect performance or appearance.10. Sampling10.1 Sampling for testing physical characteristics listed inTable 2 shall be done in accordance with the provisions setforth in ANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspection level shall bespecial inspection level S-1 as noted in Table I, and theacceptable quality le
29、vel (AQL) shall be 6.5 defects per hundredunits as noted in Table II-A or as specified in 10.2. 33、Binder ContentThe wear layer bindercontent for either type product shall be determined by state-ment of formula (Manufacturers certificate of compliance).11.2 Wear Layer ThicknessThe wear layer thickness shallbe determined in accordance with Test Method F410 except thethickness of the sample shall b
34、e the average of the measure-ments on three specimens taken 12 in. (305 mm) in from eachedge and the center of the sample.11.3 Overall ThicknessThe overall thickness when mea-sured shall be determined in accordance with Test MethodF386 except that the presser foot shall exert a total force of 16 0.1
35、 oz (28.3 6 2.8 g) on the specimen. The thickness of thesample should be the average of the measurements on threespecimens taken 12 in. (305 mm) in from each edge and thecenter of the sample.11.4 Residual IndentationThe residual indentation shallbe determined in accordance with Test Method F1914.11.
36、5 FlexibilityThe flexibility shall be determined in ac-cordance with Test Method F137. The flexibility shall be suchthat the wear surface will not crack or break when bent face outover a14 in. (6.4 mm) diameter mandrel for Type I flooring anda112 in. (38 mm) diameter mandrel for Type II flooring.11.
37、6 Resistance to ChemicalsThe chemical resistance ofsheet flooring shall be determined in accordance with TestMethod F925 when exposed to the following chemicals:11.6.1 White vinegar (5 % acetic acid),11.6.2 Rubbing alcohol (70 % isopropyl alcohol),11.6.3 White mineral oil (medicinal grade),11.6.4 Na
38、OH solution (5 %),11.6.5 HCl solution (5 %),11.6.6 Household ammonia solution (5 % NH4OH),11.6.7 Household bleach5.25 % NaOCl,11.6.8 Disinfectantphenol type(5.5 % Active Phenol),and11.6.9 Unleaded gasoline.NOTE 2These basic chemicals are representative of those likely to befound in domestic, commerc
39、ial, and institutional use. Many proprietarycompounds contain one or more of these basic chemicals. Should theflooring for an unusual application need to be resistant to a specificchemical, this additional requirement should become part of the procure-ment document.11.7 Resistance to HeatThe resista

46、g for inspection of the sheet vinyl floor cover-ing for defects that would adversely affect performance (9.1)shall be done in accordance with the provisions set forth inANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspection level shall be Level I asnoted in Table I and the acceptable quality level (AQL) shall be6.5 defects
47、 per hundred units as noted in Table II-A, or shall beas specified in 12.2. The lot size shall be expressed in units. Certification13.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserthat the material was manufactured, sampled, tested, inspected,and packaged in
49、 accordance with this specification and hasbeen found to meet the requirements.14. Product Marking14.1 Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order orcontract, shipping containers shall be marked with the name ofthe material, the size, the thickness (when the material isavailable in more than one thickness), the pattern number, thequantity contained therein and the name of the manufacturer.14.2 When product sample sets, sample set cover cards,marketing and technical literature reference this specification,the complete product classificat
