IntroductionThe American Welding Society (AWS) Board of Directorshas adopted a policy whereby all officia
40、l interpretations ofAWS standards are handled in a formal manner. Under thispolicy, all interpretations are made by the committee that isresponsible for the standard. Official communication con-cerning an interpretation is directed through the AWS staffmember who works with that committee. The polic
41、yrequires that all requests for an interpretation be submittedin writing. Such requests will be handled as expeditiouslyas possible, but due to the complexity of the work and theprocedures that must be followed, some interpretationsmay require considerable time.A2. Each inquiry shall address one singleprovision of the standard unless the point of the inquiryinvolves t

Theprovision(s) shall be identified in the scope of the inquiryalong with the edition of the standard that contains theprovision(s) the inquirer is addressing.A2.2 Purpose of the Inquiry. The purpose of the inquiryshall be stated in this portion of the inquiry. Th
