It is intended to provide closely toleranced dimensions for the transmission coupling, commonly described as the “slip-joint”, by means of which the power drive through the handpiece to the dental rotary instrument is transmitted. Observance of these dimensions will enable m
9、anufacturers of handpieces to ensure that a correct fit with the transmission coupling is secured. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract.
