15、rd lined metal stud partitions and wall linings, where the gypsum wallboards, complying with BS1230-1, conceal the metal framing and are secured to it by screws. It does not specify the number, size, profile and metal thickness of stud and channel selected. This standard does not include components

Structural strength is not specified. NOTEThe titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the

Sections shall be free from kinks and other local deformations that impair their use. NOTESections may include ribs or dutch bends to improve stiffness. 4.2
25、 Cutting and holing Cutting shall be by shearing, cropping or sawing at right angles to the length, unless otherwise specified. Holes shall be punched or drilled. Any excess burrs and sharp edges shall be removed. The size, number and location of cut-outs and knock-outs shall be at the discretion of
26、 the supplier. NOTE 1Depending upon their size, number and location, cut-outs and knock-outs reduce the strength of studs and the effect this is likely to have on the overall performance of the partitions can only be assessed by testing a sample partition. It is envisaged that a method of test for s

The size, profile and metal thickness of the studs and channels shall be agreed at the time of enquiry and order. 5.2 T
29、hickness The thickness, including coating on both sides, shall be measured at any point in the flat area of the web and the tolerance on the thickness shall be as given in Table10 of BS2989:1982 for type G275coating. In addition studs may be1.2mm. 5.3 Length Length shall be measured along the web of a straight stud or channel and the tolerance shall be3mm. 5.4 Width 5.4.1 Measurement Widths shall be measured between outside surfaces
31、, in line with metal and at right angles to the length, except for the width of Z stud webs which shall be measured at right angles to the flanges. 5.4.2 Webs Tolerances on stud and channel web widths shall be 0.4mm from the specified dimension. NOTEStud web widths are less than matching channel web
32、 widths seeFigure 1(c). 5.4.3 Flanges Tolerances from the specified flange widths shall be as follows: a) 0.75mm for channels; b) 0.4mm for studs. Stud return flanges shall have a minimum width of6mm. Flanges of asymmetrical C studs shall be dimensioned to facilitate an interlocking assembly as boxe
33、d or spliced studs. NOTEBoxed studs provide increased strength and rigidity, spliced studs provide increased lengths. SeeFigure 1(d) and Figure 1(e). 5.5 Angular tolerances The angular tolerance between web and flange shall be1 from the design angle, except within150mm of the end of the stud or chan

Such a declaration is not to be confused with third party certification of conformity, which may also be desirable.BS7364:1990 4 BSI 09-1999 Appendix A Reproduction of Table10 from
