20、sting electromechanical components within the scope of IEC technical committee 48. This test may also be used for similar devices when specified in a detail specification. The object of this test is to define a standard test method to assess the extent and the effect of a controlled salt-laden atmos
21、phere on the finish of a specimen. 1.2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 23、eir normal accessories, mounted as specified in the detail specification. When required by the detail specification, the specimen shall be mated and unmated as many times as specified prior to testing. For each test carried out, the detail specification shall specify the condition of the component,

25、in the detail specification. 3 Test method 3.1 Conditioning This test shall be carried out in accordance with IEC 60068-2-11, Test Ka: Salt mist. The duration of the exposure shall be specified in the detail specification. 3.2 Final measurement Upon completion of the test and after the specimen has
26、been washed with distilled water and dried as specified, it shall be visually examined in accordance with IEC 60512-1-1, Test 1a: Visual examination, with particular attention to the following details: cracking; delamination; pitting of exposed metal surfaces. 4 Details to be specified When this tes
