Task1 Thisconsistedofastudyofartificialweatheringtechniquesfortheconditioningoftreatedtestblockspri
21、orto biologicaltest.Itwasoriginallyhopedthatitmightbepossibletorelatedifferentweatheringcyclestothedifferent climaticconditionsfoundwithinEurope.Howeverthisdidnotprovepossiblebutitispossibletorecommenda singleweatheringcycletoreplacetheuseofEN73andEN84.Adraftexperimentalstandardhasbeenprepared based
22、onthefindingsofthiswork. AllthesupportingdataandassociatedstudiesaresummarisedinthisTechnicalreportinclauses5and6. Task2 ThistaskconsistedofanextensivefieldtestbasedonENV12037andassociatedsubtasks.Themethodproved veryrobustbutsignificantmodificationsarerecommendedandtheENVistoberedraftedinthelightof
23、results containedinthisreport.Thisfieldtestshouldbeconsideredassimulatedservicetrialratherthananaccelerated fieldtest;aconceptthatneedscarefulconsiderationwithintheEN599framework. Subtasks2.3and2.4examinedthesuitabilityofthemethodforcompositesandthetestingofnaturallydurable timbers.Atthisstageitisto
24、oearlytomakerecommendationfortheirinclusioninthestandardbuttheresultslook promisingandthemethodwillprobablybemodifiedatalaterrevision.
