、3 Foreword This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee Hartstoffe fr Estriche of the Normenausschuss Bauwesen (Building and Civil Engineering Standards Committee). Amendments This standard differs from the October 1989 edition as follows: a) the scope has been extended to include hard agg
、regate used as dry shake on cementitious screed (e.g. as in DIN 18560-3 and DIN 18560-4); b) tolerances are now specified for particle size distribution; c) compressive and flexural strength values are no longer specified; d) the values for abrasive wear have been changed. 15、 standard, the terms defined in DIN EN 13318 apply, as well as the following. 3.1 hard aggregate a mixture of particularly hard natural stone or slag and/or metal particles, fused aluminium oxide and silicon carbide, mixed at the production plant along the lines of DIN EN 12620 4 Hard aggregate grou
、ps Hard aggregate is classified into the following groups, based on the type of material contained therein: Group A (generally): Natural stone and/or dense slag, or mixtures thereof with Group M and/or KS aggregate Group M: Metal Group KS: Fused aluminium oxide and silicon carbide 5 Requirements 5.1
、 General Hard aggregate shall not contain any substances which have an adverse effect on the setting, curing, surface quality and durability of the wearing screed. In addition, the information given in DIN V 20000-103 and Annex G of DIN EN 12620:2003-04 shall be taken into consideration. DIN 1100:20
、04-05 5 5.2 Particle size distribution The particle size distribution of Group A and Group KS aggregate shall be specified by the manufacturer, maintained within the tolerances given in table 1, in deviation from DIN EN 12620. The particle size distribution of Group M aggregate shall also be specifi

、 5.5 Strength The manufacturer shall give the compressive and flexural strength values determined during initial type testing of the screed mortar used to determine abrasive wear (cf. subclause 5.4). DIN 1100:2004-05 6 5.6 Fire behaviour Only hard aggregate which meets the requirements for one of th
、e classes specified in DIN EN 13501-1 may be used. Hard aggregate may be attributed to class A1 without testing as long as the percentage by mass or by volume (whichever is greater) of organic substances does not exceed 1 %. 6 Testing 6.1 General The properties of Group A and Group KS aggregate, and
、 where expedient those of Group M aggregate, shall be tested as in DIN EN 12620. 6.2 Particle size distribution The particle size distribution of Group A and Group KS aggregate shall be determined as in DIN EN 933-1, while the determination of the particle size distribution of Group M aggregate shal

Test containers having different capacities than those specified in the above-mentioned standard may be used if values obtained using such containers are available for co
、mparison with results obtained using the standardized containers. 6.4 Abrasive wear Abrasive wear shall be tested on three plates or cubes having a test surface edge length of (71 1,5) mm and made from screed mortar prepared according to the manufacturers specifications. The test specimens are to be
、 compacted on a vibrating table as in DIN EN 196-1, covered by a glass plate and then conditioned for two days in the mould at (20 1) C and a relative humidity of at least 95 %. Specimens shall then be demoulded and then conditioned at DIN 50014-20/65-2 standard atmosphere for 21 more days. Before t
、esting, dry the specimens at (105 5) C until constant mass1)has been reached. Then, carry out testing as in DIN 52108 on the upper test surface. Include the specimen age at the time of testing in the results. The test surface is to be pre-ground for four test cycles (cf. DIN 52108). Normally, abrasi
、ve wear is to be determined on the basis of loss in volume. Determining abrasive wear on the basis of loss in thickness is only useful if the density of the layer that is subject to wear cannot be established. 6.5 Strength Flexural and compressive strength shall be carried out on the screed mortar u

Specimens shall be compacted on a vibrating table as in DIN EN 196-1 and conditioned as specified in subclause 6.4 of the present standard. Testing is to be carried out on specimens having an ag

、as in subclauses 6.2 to 6.5 and checking all characteristic values documented by the manufacturer as part of factory production control. Every two years, the results of factory production control shall be checked, and a routine inspection, comprising testing as specified in subclauses 6.2 to 6.5, sh

In addition, the inspection body is to establish whether or not these results correspond to the results reported as part of factory production control. 8 Designation Hard aggregate shall be designat
