、rd This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 016-00-03 AA Druckgasflaschen und Ausrstung (Transportable gas cylinders and equipment) of the Normenausschuss Druckgasanlagen (NDG) (Pressurized Gas Installations Standards Committee). This standard covers valve inlet and outlet connections
、 which meet the requirements of DIN EN ISO 10297 on the use of standardized valve connections. Data for cylinder valves for high purity gases which are not covered by other effective European Standards but still used in industry are also included in this document. Attention is drawn to the possibili
、ty that some elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. DIN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. In addition to the legal units of measurement, this standard also includes the unit inch (1”) which is not authorized in Germany. Attention is
、drawn to the fact that this unit is only used for thread specification and that there is no direct relationship with the non-authorized length unit inch. Amendments The standard differs from DIN 477-1:1990-05 as follows: a) the description of basic designs of valve bodies has been changed; b) connec
、tion 2 has been deleted because it is already covered in DIN EN 15202; c) information on UN numbers has been added in Tables 3 and 4, as far as possible; d) for connection 13 the reference to DIN EN 144-2 has been added; e) the threads and gauges W 28,8 1/14 taper and W 19,8 1/14 taper have been sub

、dized; i) the minimum length value for all outlet connections has been specified; j) the cylinder diameters for high purity gases have been added; k) the tolerances for sealing rings of connections 9, 10 and 12 have been given a uniform value of mm5,00+(see Figures 50, 56 and 68) because all three c
、onnections use the same sealing ring; l) gases that are available on the market but were missing in the previous version have been added in Tables 3 and 4 and the classification of connections has been adapted to existing industry practice, where necessary; m) Annex B has been deleted; n) the effect

、n The main aim of this standard is to allocate valve connections to certain gas types to prevent connections of non-compatible gases (e.g. oxygen/hydrogen) being exchanged. WARNING In order to preclude the occurrence of hazardous situations (e.g. leakage, incompatibility), the user shall guarantee t
、hat the valve outlet connection selected will not be connected to connections given in other standards. In view of the variety of connections used and the large number of national standards, this precaution shall always be taken. DIN 477-1:2012-06 6 1 Scope This standard applies to cylinder valves a
、ccording to DIN EN ISO 10297 for compressed, liquefied and dissolved gases. This standard specifies the requirements for inlet and outlet connections of cylinder valves rated for cylinder test pressures up to and including 300 bar, if not otherwise specified. Inlet and outlet connections of cylinder
、 valves for breathing apparatus are specified in DIN EN 144-1 to DIN EN 144-3. Outlet connections of cylinder valves for cylinder test pressures from above 300 bar to 450 bar are specified in DIN 477-5. For cylinders whose content is used for medical purposes, cylinder valves with outlet connections
、 of the pin-index system according to DIN EN ISO 407 can be provided. Outlet connections for LPG valves are specified in DIN EN 15202. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 37、specified dimensions. DIN 477-1:2012-06 9 5 Allocation of gas types and outlet connections The outlet connections of cylinder valves for all flammable gases (except the acetylene yoke connection) should be of the left-hand (LH) thread type, the outlet connections of cylinder valves for all remaining
、 gases should be of the right-hand (RH) thread type. NOTE 1 For the definition of “flammable gases”, see Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Annex I, Section 2.2. NOTE 2 Exceptions to this rule are, for example, gas mixtures which are not otherwise classified and test gas (non-flammable), see Table 4. For
、 cylinder valves fitted to individual acetylene cylinders the yoke outlet connection shall be used. The outlet connections and allocation numbers to be considered eligible for the individual gases shall be taken from Tables 3 and 4. The valve outlet connection threads for gases and gas mixtures not
、covered in these tables are required to be specified separately. The connection numbers are not assigned in consecutive order (see Foreword). NOTE 3 For a number of gas types, transport regulations (e.g. RID/ADR/ADN, Packing instruction P 200) require gas-tight plugs or caps. The outlet connection t
