16、fying and calibrating materials testing machinesMaterials testing machines used to perform definitive tests shall be regularly verified and calibrated, a definitivetest being one which can serve as proof for the compliance or non-compliance with a standard, deliverycondition or other technical speci
17、fication (information on test houses and laboratories carrying out verificationand calibration of materials testing machines is given in Annex B).6.1 Scope of verification and calibrationVerification and calibration is to involve the following:a) inspection of the installation site;b) inspection of
18、the machine construction;c) checking to make sure machine complies with all technical specifications for that type of machine;d) calibration of measuring systems if steps a) to c) have positive results.1) Testing machines outside the scope of this standard include machines for non-destructive testin
19、g, weartesting and corrosion testing, and for functional tests on finished products and assemblies.Page 3DIN 51220 : 2003-086.2 Frequency of verification and calibrationVerification and calibration shall be carried outa) before the machine is commissioned (for stationary machines, at the installatio
20、n site);b) after each re-installation (for stationary machines);c) whenever any changes in the loading device, force or energy measuring system, or extensometer aresuspected;d) whenever the machine has been submitted to major repairs or adjustments that could affect the accuracyof the machine.In any
21、 case, verification and calibration shall be carried out at least once a year, except where otherwisespecified.6.3 Verification report and calibration certificateVerification reports and calibration certificates shall include the following information (further information maybe required in the stand
22、ards relevant to the type of machine in question):a) identification of machine (manufacturer, type, year of manufacture, serial number, type of loading deviceor measuring device(s);b) location of machine;c) applicant;d) date and place of verification or calibration;e) equipment used for verification

Lists containing the names and addresses of these agencies, as well as the types oftesting machines and the measuring range limits up to
25、which they can test, are available from the Verband derMaterialprfungsmter (VMPA) (German Association of Materials Testing Agencies) (Offices: Agastr. 24,12489 Berlin, Germany).As a result of current developments within the European Market and the publication of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025,the verification
26、 and calibration of materials testing machines can now be carried out by private companiesaccredited either by the Akkreditierstelle des Deutschen Kalibrierdienstes (Offices: Physikalisch-TechnischeBundesanstalt (German Federal Institute for Science and Technology), Bundesallee 100, 38116 Braunschwe
