4、 2009. DIN EN 14382:2005-07 may be used in parallel until 28 December 2009. National foreword This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 235 “Gas pressure regulators and associated safety devices for use in gas transmission and distribution” (Secretariat: UNI, Italy). The responsi

5、ble German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Gastechnik (Gas Technology Standards Committee). The technical content of this standard has largely been brought into line with DIN EN 334, with the main specifications with regard to the body, connections etc. now being the same in

6、 both standards. This standard is harmonized in all key points with the essential requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive, with the exception of the external resistance to environmental conditions where corrosion occurs. When operating safety shut-off devices dealt with in this standard in

7、gas pressure regulating stations conforming to Codes of practice for gas issued by the DVGW Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V. (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water), the specifications of DVGW Arbeitsblatt (Code of practice) G 491 shall be taken into account. T

8、o calculate the pressure drop, equation (5) from DIN EN 334:2005+A1:2009 may be used as an alternative to the equation given in subclause 7.9.5 (also for regulators with integrated SSDs, see subclause 5.1.6). This standard will also be included in the body of regulatory documents on gas of the DVGW.

9、 It should be noted that “gas safety shut-off devices” are referred to in this standard as “SSDs”, except in titles. Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 14382:2005-07 as follows: a) The standard now includes harmonized specifications for safety shut-off devices with varying strength ranges.

10、 b) Additional SSD types with pressure regulator and safety device have been included. c) SSDs incorporated into pressure-regulating devices used in service lines have been explicitly excluded from the scope of this standard. d) Clause 3 “Terms, definitions and symbols” has been revised. e) An infor

11、mative Annex L giving a glossary of the most important terms in German, English and French has been included. f) Corrigendum EN 14382:2005+A1/AC:2009 has been incorporated. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement,

Safety shut-off devices dealt with in this document are standard safety shut-off devices and, when used in pressure regulating stations complying with EN 12186 or EN 12279, they are considered as standard pressure equipment in accordance with Clause 3.1 of Art. 1

44、 of Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). For standard safety shut-off devices used in pressure regulating stations complying with EN 12186 or EN 12279, Table ZA.1 given in Annex ZA includes all applicable Essential Requirements given in Annex I of PED !except the external corrosion resistance in case

45、 of environmental conditions where corrosion is likely to occur“. The normative Annex J of this document lists some suitable materials for pressure containing parts, inner metallic partition walls, fasteners and connectors.
