National foreword This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 164 “Water supply” (Secretariat: AFNOR, France). The national standards organizations
5、listed in the Foreword are bound to implement this European Standard without any modification. The preliminary work was done by Working Group WG 2 “Internal systems and components” of CEN/TC 164 (lead-managed by DIN, Germany). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenaus
6、schuss Wasserwesen (Water Practice Standards Committee), Working Committee NA 119-04-07 AA Husliche Wasserversorgung. The terminology used in this standard is in conformity with that used in other standards, e.g. in various product standards, and has been harmonized in these various areas at Europea
7、n level in agreement with the relevant stakeholders. It should be noted, however, that according to maintenance terminology used in Germany, the term Betrieb (operation) is superordinate to Wartung (maintenance) which is deemed a partial aspect of preventative maintenance. It has not been possible t
8、o bring across this German viewpoint in the European working group. However, the German mirror committee did not see any reason to reject this standard, which is based on English terminological usage, because of these terminological differences. Since the standard is addressed to specialists (see Fo
9、reword), this point of view will not present a barrier to maintaining the functionality of drinking water installations and taking the measures (e.g. inspection, maintenance, repairs) necessary for restoring this functionality. See DIN 31051 for German maintenance terminology. This standard has been
10、 prepared in agreement with the DVGW Deutsche Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V. (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) and has been included in the body of technical rules and standards for water issued by the DVGW. Amendments This standard differs from DIN 1988-8:1
11、988-12 as follows: a) the relevant principles were modified during the revision of its content in order to harmonize this content with standards published by other standards bodies and with national regulations of the EU Member States, and to incorporate experience gained in the operation and mainte
12、nance of drinking water installations; b) the standard has been brought in line with the current presentation rules.
