18、)1 ScopeThis International Standard specifies a method for the drawing, from a lot, of whole pieces of leather to form a gross sample.The method is applicable to all kinds of leather of any type of tannage.NOTE This International Standard does not cover marking and storage of the gross sample.2 Norm

22、he test method, the procedure described in 4.2 and 4.3 is recommended.4.2 The number of items in a gross sample depends on the size of the lot and purpose of the sampling. The number will depend on the reliability of the test results, the variation in the properties and the error inherent in the tes

24、e testing is when the item is not damaged and can be returned to the lot.bDestructive testing is when the item after testing is not able to be returned to the lot, for example when test pieces have been cut out.4.4 The selection of pieces from the lot to form items of the gross sample shall be done
25、in a manner ensuring truly random sampling, for example, by numbering the pieces in order and then choosing the pieces by number, using a table of random numbers.5 Sampling reportThe sampling report shall include the following information:a) reference to this International Standard, i.e. ISO 2588;b)
