Abstract. The apron shall be of one type of protective mesh. Salie
2、nt Characteristics. The apron shall be used to give protection to the chest, abdomen, groin, and front of thighs of meat cutters. The apron shall be in accordance with Figure 1. Materials. The specified materials shall conform to applicable documents and requirements specified herein. Materials not
3、definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer for his meat cutters aprons provided that the completed items conform to all provisions of this document. 6、6 5 Thread. The thread shall be approximately a 16/4 cotton count with a breaking strength of 6.8 pounds minimum. Brass, sheet or strip. Brass, sheet or strip, shall conform to a high quality commercial product. Eyelets and washers. Eyelets and washers shall be fabricated of brass and finished as sp
7、ecified. Eyelets. Eyelets shall be rolled flanged type with an outside diameter of not less than 0.20 inch, a flange diameter of not less than 0.34 inch, and a metal thickness of not less than 0.011 inch. Washers. Washers shall be round flat type with an outside diameter of not less than 0.40 inch,
8、a thickness of not less than 0.018 inch, and an inside diameter to accommodate the eyelets. Solder. Solder shall be composed of 45.0 i 1.0 percent silver, 15.0 2 1.0 percent copper, 16.0 2 2.0 percent zinc, 24.0 2 1.0 percent cadmium and traces of other elements. Cotton webbinq. The cotton webbing s
9、hall be 1 inch wide, natural, medium heavyweight and weigh 0.96 ounces per linear yard. Keeper clamps. The keeper clamps shall be 1 inch with loops for use with cotton webbing except that the finish shall be decorative nickel plate. Snaphooks. The snaphooks shall have a cast body made of brass or st
10、eel. Dee rinqs. Dee rings shall be made from brass or steel wire, 1“ inch x 7/8“, except that the finish shall be decorative nickel plate. Label. The label shall be an identification label for garments covering marking, direct printing, stamping, or stenciling. Patterns. The government shall furnish
11、 a single size pattern. The contractor is responsible for grading patterns for additional sizes. The pattern generally provides for a seam allowance of 1/2 inch for joining seams. Commercial patterns may be used in lieu of the government furnished pattern provided they conform to the cited design an
12、d finished measurements. Construction. The metal mesh shall be formed from the ring and square, 4 prong stamping of
13、 the brass and assembled as shown on Figure 1. The prongs of the square stamping shall be soldered. O Eyelets and washers. The eyelets shall be inserted through the washers, the webbing, and the metal mesh and set as shown on Figure 1. The eyelet holes through the cotton webbing, shall be smaller th
14、an the outside diameter of the eyelet shank so that the eyelet shank must be forced through the webbing. The diameter of the eyelet holes in the metal mesh shall be not more than 0.005 inch larger than the outside diameter of the eyelet shank. Finish. The finish on all metal components shall be deco
15、rative nickel plate, nominal 0.0001 inch thickness. Workmanship. After completion, the finish aprons shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose thread, and foreign matter removed. Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The Product Demo
16、nstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government, One (i) Product De
17、monstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve the successful offerer of his responsibility to perf
18、orm in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. Quality Assurance. Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards
19、 and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Examination. Lots of aprons shall be inspected in accordance with “Sampling Proc
20、edures and Table for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control. Visual Examination. The fully packaged shipping containers shall be examined in accordance with defects listed below. The inspection lot. The inspection level shall be 5.2 and the AQL shall be 2.5. Examina

The apron shall be examined for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear, color not as specified: any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed;
23、label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified; Soldering: Cold solder joints (joints not completely sealed); Not clean and free of embedded foreign matter; Excess solder and flux not removed; Finish: Nickel plate not plated (metal parts); any visible blister, pit, poro
24、sity, or indication of burning; Any nodule or excessive edge buildup, plating not adherent; any component missing or misplaced; operation omitted or not properly performed; two or more rings not engaging prongs from appropriate stampings as specified except the sides of the apron; Any ring not engag
25、ing prongs from four separate stampings as specified except, at the sides of the apron; not joined together by solder; Two prongs on two or more stampings not joined together by solder; Any sharp burr edge or protrusion; Any component or assembly malformed; Attachment of any webbing border piece or
26、strap to apron not accomplished as specified; Any cut, hole, or tear in webbing components: - where dee ring is attached or where keeper clamp or spring snap is attached in any area other than that specified above. 27、/roll to approximately 18 by 3 inches. Packaging. Twenty aprons shall be packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style RSC-L, GRADE 275 OF PPP-B-636. The inside dimensions of the box shall be approximately 18-1/2 inches in length, 12 inches in width and 10 inches in depth be closed in accordance wi

Boxes shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147
29、. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with bonding means C and D, or film bonding means F or G. Pallet pattern shall be number 7 in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Markinq. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129. Domestic. Packaain
30、a, Packinq, Palletization and Markinq. Packaging, Packing, palletization and marking shall be in accordance with ASTM D 3951. Note: Each shipping container shall contain only one National Stock Number (NSN). Unitized loads, placing boxes on pallets, shall be used whenever total quantity for shipment
31、 to one destination exceeds 250 pounds (excluding the pallet) or 20 cubic feet. Pallets shall have a length of 40 inches and a width of 48 inches. Pallet loads, including the pallet, shall not exceed 54 inches in height, 43 inches in length and 52 inches in width. The containers shall be bonded onto
32、 wing type commercial 4-way entry pallets. Note: All palletized loads shall contain only one NSN, to the maximum extent possible. When there is less than a pallet load per NSN, pallets may have containers not of the same NSN, but the pallet shall be clearly marked “mixed“ and each applicable NSN sha
