ABSTRACT Abstract. The yarn shall be one type
2、of cotton, suitable for carpet warps in hand weaving occupational therapy. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS General description. The yarn shall be made of clean cotton which has been carded, spun, and twisted into yarn. The yarn shall be 8/4 ply 2 3 percent, 6 to 7 1/2 turns per inch of “S“ twist in the ply.
3、 The plied yarn shall have a breaking strength of 7 pounds minimum when tested as specified under end item performance testing. Color. or col standa The color of the yarn shall be natural, bleached white, .or, as specified, and shall conform to an approved shade .rd. When white is specified, the yar
4、n shall be bleached using a peroxide type bleach. No tinting is permissible and the use of optical bleaches is not permitted. When natural is specified, the yarn shall be the natural shade. 7、ing elementary sulfur or compounds capable of oxidation to sulfuric acid is prohibited when tested as specified under end item performance testing. Shade Matchinq. The color shall match the standard sample under natural (north sky) dayli ht or artificial daylight having a color temperature of 75008
8、Kelvin and shall be a aood approximation to the standard sample under incandscent lamplight at 2800 Kelvin. Colorfastness. The dyed and finished yarn shall show a minimum of Class 3 fastness to laundering when tested as specified under end item performance testing. Put-up. The yarn shall be put up o
9、n spools containing 840 yards - + 10 percent. Label/markinq. Each spool shall be labeled or ticketed for fiber content in accordance with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. Workmanship. After completion, the finished yarn shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose thread, lint, and forei
10、gn matter removed. QUALITY ASSURANCE Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own specifications,
11、standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Visual examination. Yarn.lots shall be inspected in accordance with ANSI/AS
12、QC 21.4. The inspection level shall be I and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. The lot size shall be expressed in units of one spool. The sample unit shall be one spool. Defects. The yarn shall be examined for the following defects: an
13、y spot or stain, clearly visible at normal inspection distance (approximately 3 feet), any burr, shive or foreign matter; wrong color, off shade, i.e. not within established tolerances; package which is cut, torn, chafed, or otherwise damaged, affecting the free unhampered unwinding of yarn or affec

The yarn shall be tested as specified in

Ninety-six spools of yarn of one color only, packaged as specified in packaging paragraph, shall be packed in a snug- fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to
21、style RSC, type CF (variety SW) or SF, class domestic, grade 275. Each shipping container shall be closed either with glue, hot melt adhesive or tape in accordance with good commercial practice. Markinq. In addition to any special markings required by the contract or purchase order, interior package
