Abstract. This commercial item description

2、 covers one type of cotton/polyester blend trunks used by Military personnel of th Department of Defense as a component of the Physical Fitness Uni form. Salient Characteristics. The trunks shall be a boxer style, having a covered elastic waistband with three rows of stitching, 3/4 2 1.4 incn hemmed

3、 leg openings, leg vents at side seams, a full, pre-assembled liner, and a key/change pocket with rounded corners located on the upper right front waistband. The pocket shall be 3 5 1/2 inches in width at top folded edge and 4 5 1/2 inches in length from the bottom edge of waistband to bottom edge o

4、f pocket (see Figure 1). All seams shall be overedged stitched and the gage of the stitching shall be 3/16 2 1/16 inch. Figure 1 is furnished solely for guidance and information. The cloth

7、for the body of the trunks shall be a jersey knit using a cotton/polyester blended yarn of 50 2 5 percent cotton and the remaining percent polyester. The cloth shall match the standard sample for color heather grey 467 when viewed under filtered tungsten lamps that approximate artificial daylight an

8、d that have a correlated color temperature of 7500 -+ 200 K, with illumination of 100 2 20 foot candles, and shall be a good match to the standard sample under incandescent lamplight of 2300 2 200K, and conform to the characteristics in Table I below. Liner sizes shall be identified and matched to trunk sizes as shown in the following manner. Liner color identification

The thread for the trunks shall be a 50/2 spun polyester, or an equivalent cotton-covered or polyester-covered polyester core, or a high tenacity, textured polyester of approximatel

15、y 45 Tex. The color of the thread shall be dyed to approximate the shade of the basic material. Label. A commercial type label is acceptable provided an additional printed cloth label containing the contractors name, contract number, size and National Stock Number (NSN) is caught on the stitching of

16、 the commercial label. The commercial label shall include fiber and laundering information. The body of the instruction label shall be as follows: CARE INSTRUCTIONS Hand or machine wash in cold or warm water Do not Bleach or Iron. Tumble dry at low or medium (maximum 120OF). setting (maximum 160OF).

17、 Patterns. Commercial patterns shall be used. 22、, and foreign matter removed. The trunks shall conform to the quality established by this document. Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samDles of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist f units independently developed. Product Demonstrat

23、ion Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a m

24、anufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve the successful offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the pr

26、oduct conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance

27、on contractor QA systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Examination. Trunk lots shall be inspected in accordance with “Sampling Procedures and Ta

28、bles for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control. Visual Examination. The trunks shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of trunks. The sample size is one of the trunks. The inspection level for

29、 visual examination shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 1.5. Defects. The trunks shall be examined for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear, color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; a

30、ny components missing or other than specified; any seam twisted, puckered or pulled affecting appearance; any needle chews or tight tension; any part of trunks badly pleated, or caught in any unrelated row of stitching; any open seam; any omitted hems; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measure

31、ment of item not as specified. Dimensional Examination. The finished trunks shall conform to the dimensions specified. Any dimension that is not within the established tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The sample unit shall be one of the trunks; the inspection level shall be S-3 and the AQL

32、, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. Shrinkaqe. The completed trunks shall not shrink nor elongate more than 10 percent ir_ width or length when tested as specified in end item shrinkage testing, except that the measurement to be taken after testing shall be the outseam a

The end item shall be tested for shrinkage as specified in Test Method 150 of AATCC using normal machine cycle,

34、( 120 2 5OF) washing temperature and cotton/sturdy dryer setting (150 10F). The trunks shall not be moistened or pressed before measuring. The measurement shall be taken to the nearest 0.1 inch with the trunks laid flat. Any dimensions not within the specified tolerance shall be classified as a defe

35、ct. The lot shall be expressed in units of trunks. The sample unit shall be one of the trunks. The inspection level shall be S-3 and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 4.0. Packaqinq Examination. The fully packaged shipping containers shall be examined in accordance w

36、ith defects listed below. The lot size shall be the number of shipping containers in the inspection lot. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable. Packaainq. Overseas. Packaqinq. Each pair of trunks shal

40、l be folded and placed in a plastic bag. Packinq. Twenty two pairs of trunks shall be packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style RSC-L, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. The inside dimensions of the box shall be approximately 23-1/2 inches in length, 15 inches in width and 12 inches in depth. The box shal

41、l be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. Palletization. Boxes shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with bonding means C and D, or film bonding me

42、ans F or G. Pallet pattern shall be number 3 in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Markinq. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-147. Domestic.
