SCOPE. This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers concertina
2、 barb tape for barb tape entanglements. These entanglements may serve as a security barrier for confinement applications, nuclear generating plants, petroleum/chemical storage, refineries, sensitive areas at airports and nuclear weapons storage, etc. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Material. The con
3、certina barbed tape shall be made of stainless steel (SS) per ASTM A666, 300 Series and shall be subject to all provisions of this CID. 2.2 Design and construction. Concertina barbed tape furnished under this CID shall conform to the dimensions and design characteristics as specified herein, in Figu
4、re 1 and in Table I. Tape material (barb) shall be single coil non-reinforced 30 inch diameter and fabricated from 0.025 inch thick 300 Series SS that is 1.21 inch wide prior to forming. Each roll shall consist of 101 coil loops with pairs of loops alternately spot welded together at 5 locations aro
5、und the circumference. Concertina welds shall be capable of withstanding a minimum pull load of 400 lbs. Cluster of 4 needle sharp barbs shall be located 4 inch on center along the spiral turns. The barb length shall be 2.250 to 2.600 inch tip to tip and alternately offset 0.15 0.45 inch. FIGURE 1.

9、ble, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, s
10、tandards, and the quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5. PACKAGING. 5.1 Preservation, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. 6. NOTES. 6.1
11、Unless otherwise specified, all dimensions are in inches. 6.2 Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, packaging shall be in accordance with ASTM D3951. 6.3 The following part or identification numbering procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement
