SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This drawing outlines the requirements for a specific member of a family of compact
、, high contact density (.050 inch (1.27 mm), high performance two-piece electrical connectors. These connectors are intended for printed circuit board (plug in dual heat sinked daughter board modules, and fixed backplanes) applications utilizing surface mount daughter board and compliant pin backpan
、el termination techniques. This connector family includes members that provide combinations of low power signal contacts, power contacts, shielded contacts and optical termini. These connectors may be used in severe operating environments, and may include features such as protective hoods, contact s
、ealing, interfacial seals, electrostatic shielding, and others. This connector family is organized and fabricated utilizing modular design, with connector module blocks which can be grouped to provide for combinations of low power signal contacts, fiber optic termini, power contacts, and shielded co
、ntacts. Specific groupings of these module blocks constitute elements of the connector family. This specific drawing details a member of the connector family composed of groupings of (10) low power blade type contact module blocks, which, when combined, provide a total of 396 signal contacts. The co
、ntact module blocks are enclosed (epoxy bonded) within a ground-plane forming aluminum frame, resulting in a single piece metal shrouded connector construction. This assembly mates with DSCC drawing 02007 backpanel connector. The connector features straddle type, surface mount terminations for print
、ed circuit daughter card module installation, which will accommodate from .053 to .231 inch (1.35 to 5.87 mm) spacing between the daughter board contact termination planes. This family member does not include module blocks containing fiber optic, power, or shielded contact elements. Other members of
、 this connector family, which include these contact types, are included in DSCC drawings 93002 to 93013. 1.2 Part or Identifying Number (PIN).
