Termination material shall be in accordance with MIL-STD

The use of pure tin, as an underplate or final finish is prohibited both internally and externally. Tin content of resistor compo

19、nents and solder shall not exceed 97 percent, by mass. Tin shall be alloyed with a minimum of 3 percent lead, by mass (see 6.3). 3.3.3 Resistance range. The resistance range shall be from 0.10 ohms to 51.1 kilohms. 3.3.3.1 Resistance. The nominal resistance identified by four digits; the first three

20、 digits represent significant figures and the last digit specifies the number of zeros to follow. When the value of resistance is less than 100 ohms, or when fractional values of an ohm are required, the letter “R” is substituted for the significant digits to represent the decimal point. When the le

21、tter “R” is used, succeeding digits of the group represent significant figures. The resistance value designations are shown in table II. Standard values for every decade follows the sequence demonstrated for 10 decade to 100 decade in table III Resistance values not listed in table III for the appro

22、priate resistance tolerance are considered as not conforming to the specification. Although resistance tolerances “J” and “K” normally require less than three significant figures to adequately describe the true resistance value, for the purpose of this specification, the nominal value is three signi

Resistors are available in tolerances F (1.0 percent), and J (5.0 percent). 3.3.5 Te

25、mperature characteristics. Resistors are available with a temperature coefficient of 100 ppm. Resistance values below 10 ohm shall have a temperature coefficient of 200 ppm. 3.4 Power rating. The power rating shall be 5 watt at +25OC case temperature. For operation at temperature in excess of +25OC,

26、 derate in accordance with figure 2. With a heatsink the power rating can go up to 25 watts at +25OC case temperature (heatsink not provided in this document). 3.5 Voltage rating. The maximum continuous working voltage shall not exceed 300 volts, or square root of P x R. 3.6 Operating temperature. T

27、he operating temperature shall be -55OC to +150OC. 3.7 Dielectric strength. The dielectric strength shall be 1,500 V ac rms. 3.8 Thermal resistance. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.2, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage; the change in resistance shall not exceed (0.5 percent +0.001 oh

29、m) for thermal shock and short time overload test combine. 3.10 Short time overload. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.3, there shall be no evidence of arcing, burning, or charring; the change in resistance shall not exceed (0.5 percent +0.001 ohm) for thermal shock and short time overlo

When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.4, t

33、he dc resistance shall be within the specified tolerance of the nominal resistance (see 3.3.3.1) for all products deliverable on the contract. 3.12 Solderability. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.5, they shall meet the criteria for wire-lead terminal evaluation in the test method. 3.13

34、Resistance temperature characteristic. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.6, the resistance temperature characteristic at each of the temperatures specified in table VII are referred to 25OC 5OC and resistance values shall be in accordance with 3.3.5. 3.14 Low temperature operation. When

35、resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.7, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm). 3.15 Terminal strength. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.8, there shall be no evidence of breaking or loosening of terminals

36、from the resistor form, or chipping of coating, or other evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.20 percent +0.001 ohm). When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.9, there shall be no evidence of flashover, mechanical damage, arching, or insulation breakdown. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001

38、 ohm). 3.17Insulation resistance. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.10, the insulation resistance shall be not less than 10,000 megohms. NOTE: The curve indicated the percentage of nominal wattage that can be applied above 25OC that results in the same resistance film temperature. FIGURE

39、 2. Derating curve for various case temperatures. 3.18 Resistance to soldering heat. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.11, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.002 ohm). 3.19 Moisture resistance. When resistors are te

40、sted as specified in 4.5.12, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.50 percent +0.001 ohm). In addition, the change in resistance due to dielectric withstanding voltage shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm), and the insulation resistance sh

41、all be 100 megohms minimum. 3.20 Shock (specified pulse). When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.13, there shall be no evidence of mechanical or electrical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm). There shall be no electrical discontinuity during the test.

42、3.21 Vibration, high frequency. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.14, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.20 percent +0.001 ohm). There shall be no electrical discontinuity during the test. 3.22 Life. When resistors are tested as

43、specified in 4.5.15, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance between the initial measurement and any of the succeeding measurements, up to and including 1,000 hours, shall not exceed (1.00 percent +0.001 ohm). 3.23 High temperature exposure. When resistors are teste

44、d as specified in 4.5.16, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (1.0 percent +0.001 ohm). Following this test, the dielectric withstanding voltage shall be as specified in 3.16, and the insulation resistance shall be 1,000 megohms minimum. Percent

Resistors shall be marked with the PIN assigned herein (see 1.2) and manufacturers identification code (CAGE or logo), as shown in the following example: CAGE or Logo 04025 - Specification number * - Resistance, Tolerance, and terminal finish * - Date code 3.26 Recycled, recovered, or en

47、vironmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.27 Manuf

48、acturer eligibility. To be eligible for listing as an approved source of supply, a manufacturer shall perform the group A and group B inspections specified herein on a sample of parts agreed upon by the manufacturer and DLA Land and Maritime-VAT. 3.27.1 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of co

49、mpliance shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be an approved source of supply. 3.28 Workmanship. Resistors shall be uniform in quality and free from defects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Qualification inspection. Qualification inspection is not applicable to this document. 4.2 Conformanc
